Re: What do marketing jobs pay if u have a masters marketing degree?

hi Kitson .. sorry I just saw this thread .. hope its not too late ..

Congratulations on the completion of your degree .. Marketing is a very competitive field .. though I will say that it has a brilliant pool of job opportunities as well ... But it largely depends what country you are in .. please share with us and we will try and help you as much as possible ..

In the UK , finding a job in the marketing department of a large company as an apprentice is tough, but then there is loads of innovation happening in this field and if you are ready to learn new challenges like mobile technology and its use in marketing , creative marketing etc .. then you might get an opportunity sooner ... it will be a steep learning curve ... average salary is around £20K

What is your operational experience in?

I would say if you mix emerging channels e.g. Digital and get marketing Analytics in there, you can do very well.

There is an industry wide shortage of these skills and every company in this space is scrambling for resources.

Aside from consulting houses, major opportunities exist at software companies e.g. Omniture and webtrends, tech joints like google and facebook, ad agencies like draft fcb, massive marketing conglomerates like WPP, and marketing services companies like epsilon, acxiom. CRM vendors, CMS vendors, catalogers and multichannel marketers. Email marketing companies like cheetahmail.

Big data is huge with marketing and technology angle, but instead of marketing you are putting solutions using your marketing exoertise, data, Analytics and technology to enable marketers.

This is a phenomenal field right now with the right skills. And opportunities compared to going into marcomm and working in the marketing dept of a company, are just massive.
