What did your fiance get as a gift on your engagement?

We haven’t had a function for it so whenever it does happen, I want to know what to get him. I dont want to give him a ring because I want that ring to be just our wedding bands. I was thinking a Tag Heuer watch and knowing my dad, he’ll probably want to get him some techie thing like a Galaxy tab or an iPad (neither things my fiance really cares about, lol).

I dont want it to get materialistic and about things so what are some ideas aside from a watch and some thoughtful gift? I already plan on getting him some clothes (I love the idea of getting him clothes and he loves the idea of his girl having picked it out ) and shoes and perfume and all that but something which is strictly “engagement-ish”. A watch seems appropriate since it’s jewelry but it doesn’t seem original enough. :bummer:

Help! TIA!

The watch is a good idea, but usually the guy gets a watch at the wedding.. an option would be that you could give him a ring now and he can start wearing it after the wedding...

Also, I don’t know what your budget for the watch is but the formal Tag watches are expensive! I’m getting my fiancé a Tag for the shadi and I got him a platinum ring for the engagement.. The watch will be more than double the price than the ring!

I did get him a watch for his b-day, which was 2 days before the engagement, I chose to go for an informal watch and will get him a formal one for the shadi..

Anyhoo, hope this helps! CONGATULATIONS on your engagement! Do post pictures M!

If you want to give something "orignal" then mix it up.Give a watch & something personal.Created by you or kept by you.

I don't know whether it's arranged or lowee but either way if you have anything from the first time you met you could put that in a memory box or something?.Like movie ticket stubs , anything of sentimental value when you guys met .
One guy had kept movie Ticket stubs from their first date and he sent it to his bride on their wedding day with a note saying I saved this cuz I knew you were the one.

One bride had a letter she wrote when she was ten to her "future" prince. She gave it on her wedding day to her husband. It was adorable and her husband framed it & put it up in their new home. yep these r real stories

Again you know him best so I'd suggest something personal that should come from you or created by you. Cuz I-pads watches perfumes come and go and change with time but keepsakes r the best.I don't know maybe I'm just being an oldschoool senti-menti.:)
