You really think so…
I eat 4 full meals plus some additional snacks everyday and still i am smart.
Right now i am eating dahi bhaly, my sister was making it and literally i had to snach it from her. And not to forget i had daal chawal 1 hour ago..
It would be fun to have another kiddo to cook for. Duck bacon is wonderful… and duck is a very fatty meat so highly flavourful! A good butcher will likely carry it or be able to get it for you. I am fortunate that I’m usually able to find it at the Whole Foods a few blocks away and at least one other grocery store in NJ carries it but I’ve also ordered it from D’Artagnan. It’s a bit of an indulgence given the expense but it’s wonderful to have a pack in your freezer for special occasions/guests. I had a helluva day so that’s why I busted out the bacon.
The filling is crab based yup and some avocado in there as well!
In a large bowl whisk together a 1/3 cup mayo, half a green bell pepper minced, the juice of a lemon, couple tablespoons of ketchup, a small bunch of scallion thinly sliced, and I used a couple tablespoons of scotch bonnet pepper sauce but you can leave this out if the kids don’t dig it or substitute your own. Next mix in two cups of king crab meat, half of a red bell pepper diced small (but slightly larger than how you chopped the green one (this is a finicky presentation thing so ignore if you don’t care), one to two stalks of celery diced small. Season with salt and pepper (I used a wonderful smoked salt I’ve been crazy about these days.)
Toast your rolls or not. The other ingredients of the sandwiches were bibb lettuce, avocado, peppered bacon, and the crab mix.
For the bacon: Place a strip of wax paper or parchment on the counter so it’s easy to clean up and put the strips on it. Grind pepper over the strips (be generous), press the pepper into the meat, turn and repeat. The thicker the bacon the more pepper it can manage. The finer the pepper is ground the more spicy it will be so adjust your grinder accordingly. Place in pan (sans paper of course), cook, and serve.
Have been stuck at home the whole day waiting for four pieces of furniture to be delivered so I ordered a leg of lamb (Whole Foods having their annual sale of it) and roasted it for dinner:
I have some left over scampi from lunch the other day so might round it off with that.
We use yoghurt mixed with chopped tomatoes, onion and Cucumber in the pulao raita. Haven’t had it any other way.
Btw yoghurt tastes different in Pakistan.
Guzara ho raha hai
I eat well for a few days when i get scolded for my eating habits by parents. I’m moody, sometimes I have 2 meals. Mostly I have a meal and a half,And sometimes a single meal too.
