Haha…I always share food, our new coach is a single Muslim guy I always give him food and my wife’s sister can’t cook so I send her food also. Everyone is welcome to eat at our house. Kids friends routinely come to eat also.
Dilbahar Chicken curry. I blended fresh onions, ginger and garlic and fresh ingredients made a world of difference, I got in trouble for buying the new 1100 watt blender but heck it was worth it.
What is that pie thing? What is your chicken curry recipe? Looks good.
It is a chicken pot pie, I had to switch things up a bit for the kids. You make a roux with butter and flour and add ingredients.
I cook chicken curry so many different ways. This time I wanted to use my new powerful blender so I blended fresh onions and slightly browned them, then I blended fresh ginger garlic and added to the pot, of course you saute some cumin, cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon bark. I browned chicken in the mixture then added the spices. I keep things simple so basic turmeric, chilli, cumin powder and curry leaves. We don't use coriander powder as it stinks. After spices get aromatic I blended 3 tomatoes and added to the curry. Once the tomatoes got reduced I blended in some yogurt. Now the secret trick, I throw the Karahi in the oven at 350 this way I don't have to babysit and the chicken turns into butter
Wow you are a great cook. The haleem looks great, I haven’t yet cooked quinoa maybe you can share your recipes about it. Once I put ground flax seed in haleem and that seemed good, makes it really yummy
One part quinoa, two part water, boil with little bit of salt then cook on low flame for 10 or so minutes. Then you can use it in recipes that would normally require rice. These days, I sautee garlic, add tamari sauce, rice vinegar, sesame seed oil, and hot sauce. Toss in broccoli until you get that dark green color. Toss in quinoa and stir fry. Easy peasy. I usually cook the quinoa a day before just as you would use a day old rice for any old stir fry,

Thank you for sharing, I need to add some variety for my kids. They are so fussy. I am thinking they will like it. You cook very healthy, that is a bit unusual in our people. My new endeavor would be to try to make baked dahi baras. I got some mung daal flour and I will get my wife to help me bake dumplings. She is good at baking.
How old are your kids? I guess you have to start them really young at eating healthy. I choose to cook healthy because it requires effort, so might as well cook with fresh ingredients with will provide nutritional benefits.

You have to set the right habits from the get go, first they would beg for junk food now they get really offended if you offer them unhealthy food. My mission was to pioneer new tradition in my next generation where they focus on health, sports and adventure. They are 18,16,14 The oldest competed in the nationals and I am hoping the youngest goes to worlds. I kid with him, I tell him 1.5 billion desis will root for him if he goes to a higher level.
I had froze some haleem, in a bind I took that out and was a life saver. My boy is coming to visit so I made Paya for him and put it out on the deck to freeze and will thaw it when he comes. We use the outside as deep freezer.
