I WANT TO KNOW cos i was thinking should i wear spanx to hold everything in or should i wear what im going to wear that night…i want to wear a spanx outfit where it goes from the bust to the thighs..ao it shapes everything..anyone else wear that? Thing is is it uncomforatble…would you recommend it…and most importantly did it make a difference to ur look?

It depends. If you are planning to change before going to your room with hubby you can wear anything underneath. Or, if you are planning to change into a nightie etc..you can still wear spandex. If you are envisaging a scene from a bollywood movie with the song Kabhi Kabhi in the background..when you get undressed enough for hubby to see spandex...you can just hear the song come to a screeching halt when he sees a very unsexy underwear.
Alternatively, you can always buy a sexy corset and stockings etc from Agent Provocteur and that way you will look slim in wedding dress and sexy without!
I wore a fishtail lengha for my walima and so I bought a slip from David's Bridal that was designed for fishtails, to make the bottom flare out more dramatically. The top part (around the waist and hips) was really snug and smoothing so it did double duty as a slimming garment and slip---I didn't need to look into spanx. A good pushup was enough to take care of my top half. ;)

I think theres nothing wrong with wearing spanx if it helps shape your body well...dont 4get before u go into a room with your husband u will have time 2 get ready at home..well i did..as we came home..did the rasams and then i took all my gold off and my dupatta coz it was damn heavy and then wrapped a big shawl around me and went2 the hotel...so u cud take it off then if u do wear spanx....
I wore a dark pink almost fuschia color net bra... i still have it with me even after 3 yrs of our marriage.. i can never throw it away :D do make sure you keep it with u. its a beautiful memory......

i wore this shaping one-piece bathing suit type thing- cost a small fortune but did the trick! yay!
i think its nice to have something underneath thats firm and all that cos i just felt more confident with it underneath.
i've tried a black body shaper suit thing from m&s! wore it last year at my brothers wedding, tbh.... it wasnt the most comfortable thing in the world, but i got thru the day without any damage! lol and it does do the job :)
gonna be getting married myelf this year so will be looking to wear something simular, altho i've not heard of this spanx stuff. is that avaliable in the uk as well?

Try spanx and other shape enhancers on - see what works on you. You should be comfortable on you wedding day. It's a long day so don't get anything that you can't breathe in.

my wedding took place in may in pakistan n i did wear a long leggy under my lehanga but i was feeling as if im going to faint from the heat despite the ac so before i went to the parlour i took it off n just wore an underwear if it had been winter i would have definetly worn something like spanx
Spanx r the most comfortable undergarment u can wear. we used to sell them at principles which has now closed down. but when we first got them in for a trial all the staff got to try it on and instanley lost a dress size and was very comfortable. I would highly recommend it. like yourself I also got something from M & S and it was the most irratating and uncomfortable thing that I threw it away. This was something I was thinking about too... how likely is it that a bride will have time to change and for all the married ladies, did u change into fancy stuff and make ur entrance into room or put fancy stuff underneath and then put clothes back on top... (sorry for sounding pervy, just wondering whether to get matching lingerie with lengha or have a nightie type outfit.. i'm wearing a corset top so hopefully spanx will not be needed)
