I've seen parents celebrate or at the very least acknowledge their children's first anniversary....sometimes subsequent ones as well. I've noticed that among my extended relatives. But...things happen...people forget. And the most important person in the equation would be your spouse more than anyone else. Last I remember...you were none too fond of your in-laws. Just have fun with your husband, Nadz. Hope you have a good one :)

nothing neither do we expect anything from them.. it's between the husband and wife and these moments need to be celebrated just by two of them not with the whole family!

From my understanding anniversary is between a couple.....since when did this thing of bringing in family and friends and they wish u and give u gifts start?
It shouldn't matter what your in laws/parents/friends did for you on YOUR anniversary.

My husband took me to a lonely park and as soon as we arrived, it started raining. All of a sudden there was this amazing wind and background music...and for some reason, we both knew how to dance and sing....and then, out of the blue, my regular clothes transformed into this designer chiffon flowing sari while my husband's jeans became a dhoti. Then we sat under the tree and read poetry to each other. Then mmy cell phone rang, my kids were crying so we rushed home on the motorcycle...ummmm, I mean family van. :D

Ok kidding.

We usually go out for dinner, just us, on our anniversary, to a nice fancy restaurant.

OK fine, I’m not much of a cook…just cook enough things to feed my family :naak: but that’s not why we go to fancy restaurants. We go there for the service, to feel good :naak: not the food :naak:

My (sorry OUR) first anniversary, we weren’t living together. so…nothing. :naraz:

Second anniversary, I was in the hospital :frowning: He hadn’t even remembered :smack: A few weeks later we “celebrated” by visiting our lawyer, visiting my aunt, and then ordering chinese takeout and watchign Pineapple Express at home. :smiley:

This year, we were in Canada, and had a davat with the family. And I dressed up. :blush: And we cut a cake. :naak:
