i think the best advice i can give is to be be kind and friendly to your inlaws.i stayed for a month to with my in laws and i wish that somebody could have given some good ideas about how to deal with it.so your question is very valid.
if you are just staying for the month,say after of week of marriage,when all the hoopla is down,just start doing small things like if you know cooking,make a nice dish,make tea.nothing fancy.just enough so that your inlaws know that you are interested in doing things that any normal family member will do.
but mind you,this is,i assume,your own choice.some people dont do anything which is also ok if they dont want to.but since you asked the question which shows that you are curious,then this is what i sugest.
but again the best advice is to be friendly and kind.nothing can beat that.
