I bought some software, books, movies, bushes and trees. So far I did not have any negative experiences.

I purchased an accordian , a home theatre system and some barney videos from Ebay ..
that was few years ago though
as citrine said, I also never had a bad experience
Mostly books and looking into buying a TI83. No -ive experience so far.

I haven't bought anything from Ebay.... YET.
The site has certainly got quite a few nifty things for really good prices but (for whatever reason) I haven't yet been able to muster up the courage to place an order.
I've bought quite a few books from Amazon.ca and just recently placed an orders on Fashionveer.com and Mariobadescu.com, but as far as Ebay is concerned I have never mustered up the courage to make a purchase. I don't know, I suppose it has a lot to do with the fact that the website itself offers no warranty for the items/products that are being sold.
I wonder if anyone on here has ever had a bad Ebaying experience...?

Ebay is a great way to buy things. If you know what to look for in a seller, you won't go wrong. My friend taught me what to look for in a seller and also what to watch out for in sellers.
^ So, do share the wisdom please.
What are we supposed to look for in a seller? That is the thing that scares me most about Ebaying. I'd imagine there are a lot of fraudulant people on their waiting to prey on naive consumers like myself.
Anyway, I haven't bought anything from Ebay because I don't know whether the seller is any good... and more importantly, whether or not the item I am interested in purchasing is any good.
A friend of mind got conned pretty badly about two years ago. She bought a Motorolla Razr cellphone which turned out to be a fake one. (I believe she'd paid about $200 for it).

I've been active on Ebay since 2003. If you read into sellers/buyers etc then you'll be f9. Just don't sell or buy from Jamaica and Nigeria.
I was a bit reluctant in purchasing items off ebay.. but I've got the hang of it now :D
Like the poster above said .. just make sure you read everything so you know what your purchasing ... and make sure you ask questions if need be. If for the first timers, i would suggest you stick with power sellers .. they usually have good rep ...
If something goes wrong, alot of the ppl do understand so just get in touch with ASAP.
But the negative marks being taken off .. I dont know whats going to happen ... i personally think they should have left negative markings for buyers to determine whether they are trust worthy.

We've bought several DVDs from ebay. Vast majority of our experiences have been positive. We always check the rating and reviews of the sellers and only buy from ones who have sold thousands of things and who have excellent feedback left for them from other buyers, so we know we can trust them. Once there was a movie that my husband really wanted and the only person selling it was a new seller. So we figured all sellers have to start off somewhere lets give him a chance and we paid for it..waited a long time and it never showed up and he ignored all our e-mail messages. But thankfully Ebay gave us our money back and we were able to find the same movie again later on from a trusted seller. Now we never try new sellers anymore

on Ebay I get them for a fraction of the regular price. Experience has been great. Prompt shipping and always recieved items in mint condition.
