First of all Id lyk to say ever since ive come across GS ive found it v.helpful and love the diff ideas! The contrbutions are fantastic.
Have aquestion for everyone about what the sisters of a bride or groom could wear, in particular the brides sis and bridesmaids at a wedding, any particular colour scheme? style? etc.
I recently went to a wedding where the brides maids were all wearing rusty orange but has diff style outfits with heavy beadwork etc, I wish I had pics to show you guys, some had churidaars etc.
But at the diff functions what could you wear? What would you wear or wore?
All ideas will be much appreciated.
Re: What could/should the bride/grooms sisters wear on the mehndi/wedding/walima?
It depends on what you like to wear and what suits you. Yes, most people nowadays have a color theme or dress theme for mehndi. On my bro's wedding we have a 2 color theme and all close relatives were divided into two and one group wore 1 color and the other wore the other color :D. LOL that was fun!!!.
I wore bell bottoms on mehndi 1, shalwar kameez on mehndi 2, boot cut pants on barat and sharara type thingy on valima :).
Re: What could/should the bride/grooms sisters wear on the mehndi/wedding/walima?
my bm's had yellow and red shalwar kameezes for the mehendi, and my husband's groomsmen had dark green shalwar kameezes.
and then at the wedding, my girls were in identical pale green saris and the boys had tuxes on.
maybe you can pick a color swatch and tell them they can wear whatever, so long as its in that color. that gives them the flexibility to dress up according to their own taste/style, but they're still unified by color.

How about different looks for all three days . For the mehendi you can keep it casual with a nice salwar khameez . for the shaadi you can do a lehnga /sharara/ gharara . For the valima some thing different like a saree or a peshwa /anarkali .
