I agree to post #11 and I think it was result of PTSD of some rouge element of US forces.
The fact that their commanders were contacted but it lasted two hours points to that fact that those cowboys were not under anybody's control .

Problem with PPP and amreeka is they don't have God. They have no limit for what they can bring upon their subject.

this is only speculation , it may be some form of revenge taken by rogues of nato army for the killing of 16 nato soldiers by a suicide bomber , in this bombing haqqani network was alleged to be the organisation which carried out this attack in collusion with pak i.s.i.
it may be possible these unruly sepoys overuled their commanders and carried their attack for over two hours.

there is news on indian tv about another nato attack with two pakistani casualty ? running with breaking news , cant say how much is truth.
These two people were killed in Afghanistan, they were there to meet their relatives.

two reasons comes to my mind.
1. mistaken identity / mistake
2. punishing the border forces of pakistan for providing cover for the terrorists. (few weeks ago there was a documentry which highlighted the frustration of americans about pakistan helping the terrorists in doing cross border raids.)

Also why is Obama refusing to offer an apology. He is just adding fuel to the fire. There should have been a show of remorse atleast. Carrying on like this is going to hurt everybody involved.
