What can you teach me today

A lot of you are very highly acomplished people in your fields of study or work. So concept or idea that may be interesting can you share with me today?

Interest is not haraam.

Dude after been such a bright fellow why is everything you say just posted to try an irk reactions from people.

Since you are in IB why dont you talk what type of analysis you typically carry out when you are looking at an M&A of say a pharma company or doing a start up of an IT firm.

Dude, you are bright fella, dude, why the silly thread..dude. Why don;t you post something novel..dude, like you learned in school or at work..and let that be a start..dude.

Your question is too broad. What would you like to discuss? Valuations, String theory, The ticking time bomb in China..what exactly?

Asian women are more likely to self harm than any other ethnic group in the UK (Bhashra, 2002: 63). Bet u never knew that!

hmcq, word of advice: this is a go-getter’s world. do not ever sit back and wait for things, ideas, actions to come to you. instead, take the bull by the horns and make success happen…and yes, you WILL succeed if you keep at your goals persistently and don’t dare give up. best of luck to you, dude.

:flower1:

Matsui (obviously you are too touchy been called dude so I wil stick to your nick).

If I was bright I would not ask you. And since you work in I banking lets start with valuations. And then we can move onto string theory.

SS can you post the full reference to that study? What sort of self harm are we talking (cooking knife cuts or 3rd degree burns?)

Ignore Matsui yar... hes just starved for attention

Anyways, did you take any courses in Microcontrollers? I am taking this class right now, where we are working on the motorola 68HC812A4 chip, which is essentially the best learning kit for microcontrollers, and was a recent addition to the course. Even the learning board is powerful enough to be used in senior design projects later on, and we were showed a demonstration, where a student developed a candle-bot, a robot that is designed to search and extinguish fire (test subject used was a small candle) in a house. It detects fire through special IR sensors, and navigates its way (maze mapping algorithms) and has the ability to climb a stairs as well (but that was really slow). Also, another good thing about this microcontroller, which makes it better to learn rather than Intel PIO chips is the fact that motorola gives free manuals to you if you email them, and most of them are also available for free downloads on their site. Earlier the learning kits only had a ICC12 assembly language programming environment, now they support Ansi C as well, but I faced some problems with that, as C is very safe, for instance when you need to reference memory and stuff, a windows C environment wont let you mess with the memory that easily.

don't know much yet, but when i do start studying and learn something, will definitely share wid u in this thread.
that learning may just start soon (hopefully)

hmcq - btw, did u make it out to the ISNA convention?

Here's a question for people who've taken economics / operations theory - maybe I'm just not thinking straight...

comparing partial labor and capital productivity of a developed country with a lesser developed country - which one should be higher for who?

One the one hand, I can argue that since developed countries have better access to capital, their capital productivity has to be higher, and the labor productivity of a lesser developed country will be higher...

on the other hand, I can also argue that in an LDC, compared to the
a D.C., labor is more plentiful and cheaper, while capital equipment is
less plentiful and costlier - therefore, in an LDC, it is economical to
use more labor and less capital equipment to produce any given level of
output. In the D.C., it makes economic sense to do the opposite, i.e.,
to use less labor but more capital equipment. Thus, we expect output
per labor hour to be lower in the LDC than in the U.S., but output per
machine hour to be higher.

The results contradict, but both arguments hold... your thoughts??

i'm not highly accomplished :D but i think i'll share this idea... :D which i'm sure u know already :D

the key to solving all the problems in the world lies in education...the first ayah revealed of the Quran said..READ...

i'm not talking about technical education...but i think ISLAMIC education...about the Quran..

^ There you go. Everything is all clear now. :hehe:

In south asia, 68% of the population is below age 40%. Avg. Homeowner age in INdia has dropped from 53 to 42 yrs of age in 8 yrs. What does that tell ya!!! Things ar elooking good for the young people in INdia.

Explain this wonderful statement, plz? It sounds like a complex mathematical formula.

remove the % after the 40. Think laterally, my linear friend.

Matsui, off the top that doesnt say anything unless you can tell me what the comparison numbers are (ie what were the numbers last year or last ten years etc).

For the homeowner, either the people are getting richer (likely) or the price of homes has fallen or the way the data is collected has changed (The UK reduced employment levels sevaral times during Thathers years cause of the way data was collected).

Umar
can you define the terms a bit more and may be I will be able to understand what you are trying to say. :)

Zidee yes I was at ISNA.

Spock - No I have very little in terms of hardware knowlegde through formal learning. But it is always very interesting to me. What other chips/parts do you have to use with the motorola chip in order to build the robot. How much of the work is done through the users programming and in built routines in the chip.

so matty can u tell me that did india knew of these ticking time bombs in China or did india mistook it for a paper tiger again ???

I don't know about India. India probably wants a growing china. They have a trade surplus with china but I know I used to dismiss at least 2% points of the GDP forcast of china every year back in the I-banking days.
