You are comparing apples to oranges. The two authors are not in the same league at all.
Re: what book are u reading....?
finishing up the world is flat by thimas friedman,

Re: what book are u reading....?
You should read Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
Charles Dickens is my favorite author, and I loved his David Copperfield (muuuah!), Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, Xmas Carol, Hard Times, Bleak House, and of course A Tale of two Cities (read that four times already).
Re: what book are u reading....?
A short history of everything
Re: what book are u reading....?
Art of Deal by Donald Trump!
Really good - Totally in love with his ideas and the way he thinks. Sometimes people like him can teach us so much.
"if you want to think Think BIG. why think small" Donald trump.

Re: what book are u reading....?
How is "The World is Flat"?
Re: what book are u reading....?
PCG its a very interesting book on globalization. trends that we are seeing, future implications and looks at population patterns, technology and telecommunications impact, growing power in Asia, etc etc.
I have found the book thoroughly enjoyable. Friedman does go off on his flightst of fancy a bit too much sometimes and there are parts where u want him to just move on and not keep repeating himself, but overall its a great read.
Re: what book are u reading....?
Now on my reading list is masnawi of Jalal Uddin Rumi. got one with farsi and then urdu translation. I was hoping I could get wone with farsi, urdu and english, btu will have to get english one separately. This is going to be a long term read with a few pages every week.
I am a huge fan of Rumi and this present from my folks was very unexpected but very exciting
Re: what book are u reading…?
‘the world is flat’ is an informative read as mr. fraudia mentioned. but, personally i thought it lacked a meticulous analysis and doesnt have anything substantively “different” to offer to many of the arguments.
The Masnavi is a classical piece of brilliance. i read it two years ago with a persian/urdu teacher and absolutely loved it! it’s a must read if you enjoy rumi works. happy reading:blush:
Re: what book are u reading....?
^ I found The world is flat informative, but sort of dry.
Has anyone read Blink or Feakonomics?
Re: what book are u reading....?
frontier

Re: what book are u reading....?
I am re-reading DON QUIXOTE , a Spanish classic, by Cervantes.
Re: what book are u reading....?
Divaan-e-Haafez
Khawaja Shams ud-Deen Muhammed Haafiz Sherazi
It's Persian poetry, found it in my parents library the other night when I couldn't sleep, half of it goes 10 foot over my head but what I can grasp is like pure ecstasy.
Somebody mentioned Rumi up there, reminds me we have a copy of Divan-e-Shams somewhere too.
I'm no Sufi but reading this poetry is better than wine, well vodka.
Re: what book are u reading....?
