What are your views on fur?

Does anyone here wear real fur? or vintage? I have a couple of vintage bits and pieces that were bought by others but everyone time I even look at them I feel the worst pangs of guilt and deep down I think I should prob throw them away, just on principle.. Am I being a weirdo or should I throw them out??

just search for Chinese fur farms on Internet you'll never buy fur again.

You are not wierdo many people including myself think the way you do.

its also disgusting .. thinking of putting something on me that is basically animal skin .. :eek: .. no way ..

i like animals, but from a distance.

fake fur is fine i guess … but fur is not reeally me :stuck_out_tongue:

I have furs.

I’ve never bought new fur. In fact, all the fur i do have are considered vintage, and are from my mother, aunts or MIL.

To be honest, i haven’t really worn them in a long time…:hmmm:

have never wanted to own anything made of fur, and will never do that esp. after seeing that chinese fur farm video.. couldnt even watch it! :(

I don’t know that I’d ever wear “real fur” ( regardless of whether it’s brand new “or vintage”), but I’d have no problem purchasing fur harvested from an invasive pest species, fashioned into something I can actually use (like a rug, or a blanket/throw).

Am I to take it then, that ‘donation’ is not an option?

I don't blame you. I don't own any real fur items (or even fake ones for that matter). But I just pictured myself sporting a fur stole around my neck and shuddered. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

leather from cows, buffaloes, etc is somewhat acceptable, so long as the whole animals carcass was used for other purposes as well.

leather from snakes, crocodiles is not acceptable because they are being killed just for their skin.

Hmmm, I didn't think about donation but then isn't someone else using them just as bad in principle?? I prob will just bin them tho.. I know it's kinda hypocritical of me being an animal lover, having a dog and knowing I would kill anyone who harmed him..

Being honest I don't have the guts to watch those videos of animals being skinned or whatever else they do to them :(
