^my mom/sisters were a different story....if it were just us, like at my house or something, then I wouldn't have an issue nursing...but I don't consider them public....lol!

i get uncomfortable if someone nurses their baby in front of me (even if they're covered)
i don't have kids yet, but i don't think i would be comfortable nursing in front of anyone- not even my mom or sister

I think I'd feel a bit self-conscious but don't mind others doing it at all as long as they're discreet..

I do have a question to married folks with kids here. Was your husband present in the delivery room with you? I don’t think in Pakistan they let husbands in but maybe things have changed now.

I dont mind breastfeeding as long as its done discreetly. The pic on time magazine made me want to vomit. It is not natural for a boy that old to be breastfeeding. Two year olds forget but at the age of 4plus, that boy is not going to forget!

I guess I would be okay with doing it in front of my mother (if/when the opportunity rises inshAllah)....but not in front of anyone else. But then again I dont' know--I've stopped thinking about what I would and wouldn't do.
Oh yes, if I was in a room alone, t hat was fine. But if I was in the car traveling or if I was in the same room, I wasn't okay with just the shawl. I would go to another room. I didn't mind nursing around women I was close to. But I still kept myself covered (which really annoyed Bunny who would swat everything away :p ).

i dont mind. when i was learning to bfeed.. the way i was taught here… u remove your shirt totally. or atleast pull it above your head and behind your neck.. it was SO SO difficult tryin to get midget to latch on.. i would sit without any shirt. so ofcourse i did in an empty room or with just my mom or mil there. i didnt mind them
with genie it was easier but i still felt at ease without any shirt. then i learned teh ropes and how to feed clothed 
at ppls homes.. i fed in a room with just females or alone.. .. either facing the opp way or covering my boob.. this got hard with miget cuz he wanted to see everything. so wall facing since i couldnt cover jack (or shoudl i say jill 
) worked.
i thought my husband would mind it but he is so besharam now after yrs of seeing his female gori friends popping out one or the other… recently we had a white couple over and jesus.. the woman kept pullin em out like hot buns every few minutes cuz her daughter was going through a growth spurt..ofcourse she didnt bother covering it cuz its nothing to be ashamed bout right? needless to say i gave up on my dinner and kept lookin at the man to see his reaction.. he just continued his convo with her keeping his eyes above neck level .. but not faltering one bit!
later i asked hinm bout it and he goes.. its bfeeding you pervert.. get over it 
well OK THEN :mad.
p.s) did anyone else feel this … the chussar chussar slurp slurp sound a baby makes when sucking on teh nipple.. my god i would feel soooooo embarassed over it midget didnt do it so much but genie.. jesus the nation next door could hear it!

I used to be uncomfortable when someone infront of me nursed even if covered and without those slurp slurp sounds..so I prefered to leave the room..but after having my own kid sharam haya all gone down the bin..
I couldnt latch her so during the first week everyone wanted to try to make her latch..lol my husband’s aunt just grabbed my boob and tried to stuff it into my daughter’s mouth lol and I was just speechless..I wanted to kick her hard but well I am a shareef bahu:p anyways after that experience I am not uncomfortable nursing infront of women..but men:nono:
Btw how do u cover yourself? I bought a nursing cover before my kid’s birth but damn its hot in here..even in an airconditioned room my kid sweats while bf..and i duno how to keep the dupatta in place if covering with it..so I just pop out just a bit and kid is covering the exposed part so nothing shows..I guess:hehe:

As for doing it in public..if I am out somewhere..then I use formula..if at someone's place then I feed if there are only women in the room

Not in public, covered around my family women only , and in a private room away from men, i just couldnt pop em out at any point...

One thing for sure never breast feed in front of kids u consider them kids but they notice each n everything my nephew just saw his mum feeding his lil bro n thn in front of whole family he did the same held the toy removed his shirt n bhabi got achi kasi Dant from bhiya n now bhabi makes sure elder one is not around while feeding

I get your point dev, but I disagree. Yes, your nephews “play” was socially awkward and embarrassing, but I see it as a teaching/learning moment to explain in age appropriate terms what makes mommy’s and daddy’s or boy’s and girls different. The bigger deal you make out of a situation like that, the bigger deal he kid will make. I nursed the twins in front of my oldest son all the time, I didn’t have a choice as I was taking care of 3 kids by myself. And it didn’t harm him or damage him in anyway. Now obviously, if he were 7,8,9,10 or older I probably wouldn’t, but a toddler/young pre kg aged child? It’s nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of

Yes khati the thing is he should be explained this process he just turned 3 my mum explained him later n allhumdullah he never did it but yeah first time it came all of sudden tht it was really shocking n surprising for everyone.

LOL it is cute when kids pretend to be mommy. I have seen kids do this all the time and I don’t see any thing negative or embarrassing in it.

My bestie would nurse her son everywhere. She had a nursing poncho that covered everything up and no one really had a problem with it because it was so discreet. I don’t like seeing women just popping them out with no cover though- Ponchos and nursing covers do a great job of covering it up so go get one already. Someone I was talking to during our stopover in France did just that and then used a hanky to try and cover up it was pretty useless, I don’t know why she bothered.
