Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
A lot of Pakistani girls like that but the truth is they don't get paid very well. They do have tons of facilities though and you have to relocate often. Anyone who is willing to sacrifice these things should consider marrying some one like that. It's beyond the glamour of a uniform.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
They get paid decently enough, not to mention the benefits. The drawbacks are that when he gets posted to hard areas, you will not be able to accompany him, as most hard areas have limited family accommodation. Secondly, its a 24 hour service, so be prepared to have your husband leave at midnight for a drill.
Finally, social life will be a constant adjustment, as you will be moving house every 2 years or so.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Eastern is right . They don't get paid very well . Unless they reach the higher ranks . If the wife is career oriented it becomes very difficult for her because they are relocated pretty fast due to his nature of job . If he gets posted in an hard area , the family can not move over there because there is no accommodation for the family . Secondly you have to keep yourself busy , because you won't see much of him . Unless he is stationed in some area where there is lesser workload.
I have heard that many ladies still do prefer it , but it was much much safer in the past . Now there is a constant risk because of the war against terrorism.
But what is more important is the person that you marry , irrespective of his job . A general perception among people is that army men are real family men , because of being away from homes almost all their lives , they like to spend time with their families once they get married . But that might not be true for all .
If you'll be living in moqs , you'll be seeing a lot of uninvited guests daily .
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
It's quite cool I think.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Life as an officer in Pakistan military is quite comfortable. Non-monetary benefits outweigh seemingly smaller paycheck. Opportunities for social interactions are great. Lots of post-retirement opportunities too.
The only downside is relocations but if someone if fine with that, it is not too bad. Everything gets taken care of.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Wife of an army officer is always a rank higher than husband :)
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Well it is pretty nice, but just consider one thing as I come from an army family and my husband was from army as well. Most of them do cheat a lot on there wives and even before they get married they have had many affairs. I am not telling stories of my own but sharing stuff from my own experience. I know had jagha par aik jaise log nahi hote.
Rest for the part of life its quite nice and everyone is like a big family. You will get a lot of facilities as well.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
If you are OK with moving every 2-3 years, its a very good life. Some girls actually like it only because they got to see new places every 2-3 years. Secondly, they might not get paid as much as private companies but the benefits are virtually unlimited and retirement package is good too. Even after retirement, opportunities are way more and better than retirement from any other job.
and hey, you never know you might become Mrs. President/First lady one day ![]()

Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
oh and dont get taken back by stories of "cheating". Army has everyone from religious extremest to marital infidels with everything in between just like any other profession.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Of course except for hte men in your own family, the men are cheaters. #desilogic](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=desilogic)
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
My husband was accepted by the army, he went to the recuritment for a favor to a friend who wanted him to go along (that friend was unfortunately killed during service). My husband declined but he would have been perfect for the army.. tall and sporty.
btw I know quite a lot of officers die during duty, so this would be my no go, otherwise its a career thats looked upon in pak.
Re: What are your thoughts on marrying a man from Pakistani Army
Some very outrageous references to cheating being common in the army. Its nothing like that. Cheating is as common there as it is in civilians. And no, I have not seen any snobbish attitude in general either, and most of the army folks I know, being from an army family, were married into non-military families..and everything went fine.
The only things to be worried about, as most people have mentioned, are hard area postings, frequent moves, and the constant 'fear' while your husband is away.
