I forgot about Lucy Maud Montgomery. I love all the Ann books.

Also

Little Women by Louisa M. Alcott.

I don't think I ever read The Shell Seekers, but I did read Coming Home...by I think the same author.

Coming Home was interesting..but IMOH not really an enjoyable keep you glued to the book type of story.

Fun stories are Piers Anthony.. Xanth novels.

The puns are hillarious.

As in.. Books named.

Faun and Games.

Heaven Cent.

But to truly enjoy you have to read the first book..

A Spell for Cameleon. Cameleon is horribly ugly at times..and undiscribely beautiful at other times.

His books will put you on another plane..they are so punny.

For example...

Quicksand is really quick sand.

Buttercups are really cups filled with butter.

Tangleweeds are really tangle weeds... they always try to strangle someone who is unfamiliar with the correct paths to take.

Imaginary Friend..is really a Friend you imagined...

Heartbreak...is really a broken heart.

Ladyslippers (a native midwest wildflower)....are really Lady Slippers.

Wildflowers...are really wild flowers.

If you go to the school of hard knocks....... well...I suppose you understand.
etc.

Anyway.

Fun, fun reads.

And the best thing is..you can easily write to him and suggest an idea, he will write back if he uses your idea or not.
