I usually do not get time to read books. But recently I managed to read one. Liked it very much. And recommend it to everyone. “Rise and Fall of the West” by Matt Buttsworth.

This book is more than just about West. It explains very convincingly (at least to me) the reasons why Islamic and Chinese civilizations could not break the threshold to reach the stage of industrial revolution, as was done by Western nations in last few centuries. It also explains why West was able to achieve this revolution.

It has always been a fascinating subject for me to understand why Islamic civilization could not achieve the current level of development. Here is a link to this book from google. This link may not have the whole book, but it gives a good taste of what this book is about.

Have you read Abdullah Hussain Novels 'Nasheb' and Udaas Naslen. Udaas Naslen is claimed to be No.1 Urdu novel. I bought that, but never completed it
