What are you reading?

Re: What are you reading?

Ok I Understood. Its about the interaction of Hero with different women and the kind of language Bano Aapa used. Bano Aapa herself said that ' jab zaban ki chashini ki baat aati hai to ye mere bas ki baat nahin.. main Isat Chughtai aur doosri khwateen writers jaisi zaban main nahin likh sakti'. She is from upper Punjab (Ferozpur / Gurdaspur), so can't use the language of UP walas.

Re: What are you reading?

Just started ... This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper

My 2nd go at it and I think I like it this time.
Its a rather krass read.. about a jewish family who has to **** Shiva for thier dad's death.
Nothing ground breaking but some parts made me laugh out loud.

Re: What are you reading?

you are right : )

finished it the day before...

Muqawwee123, as P_G wrote in the other post there are good parts, and there are disturbing/ disappointing parts. this was first book by bano qudsia i ever read, i dont know much about her writing style. as P_G said, kuch batoon ko itni detail main aur itnay bebaak tareeqay say likhnay ki zaroorat nahi thi... the best part of the book other than haram/halal logic was the judicial proceeding in jungle : ) that was awesome

now reading: Yousuf bin Tashfeen

Re: What are you reading?

wasn't that judicial proceedings relate to haram o halal discussions among animals? I think be-baak parts / characters in Raja Gidh do exist in our society and writer didn't promote such things. She used those parts to hilight the difference between Halal o Haram.

Yousuf Bin Tashfeen by Naseem Hijazi?

Re: What are you reading?

I didn't get it what exactly you guys mean by bebak tareeke se?

Re: What are you reading?

Aazmaish shart hai... The novel deals with adult characters, so there are parts which can't be easily digested. You can categorise this novel in a PG rating :) But Its worth reading

Re: What are you reading?

i'm not saying she promoted it, she actually discouraged it. but as you said in your own post, its her way or writing. more than the writing style, its the fact that those character exist that made me feel uncomfortable, though we all know they are in our society....

and yes, yousuf bin tashfeen by naseem hijazi

Re: What are you reading?

Hmmm, if I find some part of novels boring or ‘disturbing’ I simply skip them :hehe:

Re: What are you reading?

^ that breaks the sequence, spoils the fun of reading

Re: What are you reading?

writter nay aftaab ki rohaaniyat walay part ko kaisa likha hay ?

baaz oqqat gunaah ka khul ker tazkiraa kerna bhi gunna main mubtala ker dayta hay

writer ka asal kamal he tab hai k jub lafzoon ki satar poshe ker kertay hoye asal maslay ki teraf ishara ker day ..its my personal openion

quran or hadees per jis ki gehre nazar ho us per yeh adab kay zail main yeh inkishaaf ho ga k na quran main na hadees main jub bhi kissi gunaah ya us per waeed ka zikkar hain lafzoon ka sattar waaziah hay

hamaray urdu adab kay writers kaash is cheez ko samjh patay

Re: What are you reading?

aftaab kay character ki to mujhay koi rohani side pooray novel main nahi mili. magar professor sohail ka kuch kuch interest, aur aakhri waqtoon main qayoom aur uskay "baba" ka role tha, magar wo bohot aameyaana sa hay, shaid wo is liye k writer nay usay proper topic hee nahi banaya, wo aik by product kay tor par agya hay.
