Angela’s Ashes (autobiography)
The author, Frank McCourt, talks about his bittersweet and poverty-ridden childhood in Ireland.
It’s a really thick book, but a Pulitzer winner, and a very easy read.
Such a GOOD book!!! It makes you grateful for the most basic of blessings that you have (food, clothes, bathroom, etc) But at the same time…the author’s difficult childhood is a colorful and somewhat adventurous one. And there’s so much humor in his writing. Autobiographies can often be a tough and dull read…but this is one that (despite its thickness) you can get through pretty fast cuz it’s almost hard to put down.
