I've only read one Dan Brown book, 'DaVinci Code' some years ago, because everyone hailed it as the best book ever, etc. I had to see for myself.
I was very impressed, the historical information was very interesting, some theories were perhaps possible. Once I started reading it, it was difficult to stop until I had read it all. The pace was fine for me, the way the novel was constructed was oké, I really enjoyed the book.
Until I came near the end. I felt the last part could have been left out, the book would have been better then in my opinion. The adventure was over, the real story was told. It had been a breath taking experience. But the last part was a little too much.
Still I think it's a great read, worth anyones time, but for me it wasn't as fantastic as everyone else kept saying.
And now you say that 'Lost symbol' has the same problem. Perhaps that's a Dan Brown Syndrome thing? Most writers have some sort of weakness. Perhaps this is his?
