They’re there yeah, but a lot of them are rubbish. For every 1 book that’s good, you have 10 rubbish ones. And like I said somewhere else a little while ago, I’m helping my friend write his Punjabi novels, so I’ve been doing more and more reading recently, to see what there is to compare his work to hahaha.

The poetry/philosophy of Punjabi is tough to beat though. Poets like Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Anwar Masood, Amrita Pritam, Baba Najmi, etc. Then you get into the Sufiyana Kalaam and it’s a whole different level of brilliance. Just look at that bit I posted in the Baba Bulleh Shah topic. What words can I use to describe that brilliance?

Yes, the local languages like Punjabi, Bengali and Sindhi contain precious treasure
