So what book or books were so great that you have re-read them? And why?
My most current re-read is To Kill a Mockingbird.
I read it in school and at the time it was just immoral for me to like anything that was mandated reading.
However, I hear such great things about this book that I was to revisit it - in hopes of falling in love with it?
Just finished rereading To kill a mocking bird (read it because the sequel was coming out). I first read it when I was in school, I wasn't blown away by it back then and reading it again hasn't changed my opinion - it's okay. I've started reading Go set a watchman.
Now to answer your question, I've certainly reread many books and 99% of these were classics. I do read contemporary literature, but somehow they don't seem to leave an impact like the classics do, but hey.... that's just my opinion.
See funny - that's what I feel about To Kill a Mockingbird as well.. but I think i'll still read it.
I do re-read more classics as well - but I've read Twilight thrice and I've also read Daughter of Smoke and Bones twice and A reluctant Fundamentalist twice. I feel like its a whole new book the 2nd time around.
I like Mohsin Hamid - he writes well. I also like Manto - he’s out of this world.
But for every Hamid and Manto there is a Aisha Saeed or Tamina Durrani.
So read the book for its story … not the author’s heritage.
That said I find many South Asian books relate or if not at least insightful.
I’m so sorry, didn’t mean to mock you or any twilight readers out there, how could I, when I’ve read them myself Its just that i did not like bavli bella at all, she was as indecisive as Altaf bhai is nowadays, it took nearly 2 books (if i remember correctly) for her to realise that shes in love with chamkeela edward . And yes Harry Potter has its share of flaws too.
Few years back, i did try reading A Case of Exploding Mangoes, to see what was all the brouhaha about, sadly i could not even finish chapter 1, whenever i tried picking up the book, i started yawning, so i just gave up and returned it back to the library. But i have read loads of Urdu literature and i think it’s absolutely brilliant.
Yup…and I think that Bella girl… Is in reality Kristen Stewart…Bavli …
I like sci fi…and on pleanty of occasions I have hunted for premchand… I don’t like chetan bhagat and crap he writes haven’t read any… I spend my days reading raakhi sawant’s and sunny Leone’s interviews when I m done with the world…
Baki…whatever I can find in that dusty old central library…
Mocking bird…I like bcz of Atticus …
I dont know if any one else has read them...but i've been re-reading the whole set of imran series and jasoosi dunya by ibn-e-safi....its actually helped me improve my urdu a lot!
Apart from that Orhan Pamuk's museum of innocence was something i've read recently...
Heard a lot about imran series.....will definitely check it out.

he is the most hilarious character ever! =)but do read the ones by ibn-e-safi...alot of people have tried copying him...somehow it's not the same thing...
I've reread Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell last year, as well as To the lighthouse and some Dutch authors. My son and I reread the Sil together almost every year.
