i eat green veges at every meal. even for breakfast, i have to have atleast one vegetable like spinach in my eggs or fruit on my waffle.
if i’m eating salad i put every type of vege i can think or that i have in the fridge and i’ve realized that my body is loving all the healthy food i’m eating. If i lose to temptation and eat taco bell or greasy butter chicken on a saturday evening, my body craves the veges and fruits the next day. I’ve learned to listen to my body a lot more now and i guess that’s why i’m at a healthy, good weight now
like Sara said I never buy chips, cheetos and chocolate anymore. only a tiny choco bar if i'm celebrating something special but all the junk food is gone now just cuz i can't resist it, it's more like out of sight out of mind. It helps me knowing how i tend to be around that type of food
we have only fast food at our cafeteria too at work, subway is the only one out of those that is even close to being healthy, thats why i bring food from home or go home to eat lunch, it prevents any temptations, i dont’ even want to smell the fast food :hinna:
I think i eat quite healthy when it comes to meals. I eat salad alot, fruits nd veggies, not too much oil. The only problem was that i used to eat something sweet everyday, not fruit of course but Candy nd chocolate nd ice creams nd cookies… And that i have changed , now i only eat it on fridays! me so proud
I had to made a seven days diet chart for my nutrition class and I realized that I eat quite healthy. I don't eat sweets of any kind, not even sugar in my tea. I use skim milk and non fat yogurt. I use olive oil for my cooking. I mostly eat veggies and fruits. No salty / sugary snacks. I use whole grain bread and flour.
The wife has gone to her family for ~ 35 days - the sweetie has made at least 2 weeks worth of food and kept it in the freezer. But it is a constant struggle being disciplined alone. When she is around, we eat real healthy. Got to watch temptations such as fried food, icecream etc while she is away.
The GS keeps me away from trouble though - nice timepass - so not much time to eat jumk food :)
the oil thing is important to me too and i'm conscious of it, i rarely use oil and if i do use it it's a tiny teaspoon of olive oil but I don't need it most of the time b/c since i have a nonstick pan(circulon) the chicken or fish doesn't stick to the bottom, it's perfect and keeps all that grease out of me
I have incorporated a lot more vegs and lentils into my diet, i dont have milk or sugar in my tea/coffee, however still like my biscuits
I do try to avoid over greasy stuff, but its really difficult when your cooking for 2, and your partner loves all unhealthy stuff.
I have stopped fast food crap, every now and then i may have it (only cause of availability, not for desire). I need to up my intake of water big time though
greasy stuff isn’t good for your hubby either though. do you mean something like pakoras, even for taste the greasy chicken dish doesn’t taste good when all that’s tasted is the oil floating on the top. i tablespoon oil should be enough for it to taste good, or even 1 tsp of it.
