The United States Department of State and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) are pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for intensive overseas study for Summer 2006 in critical-need languages such as Arabic, Bangla, Hindi, Punjabi, Turkish and Urdu.

As part of the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI), a U.S. government interagency effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical need foreign languages, the Department of State Critical Language Scholarships will provide funding for U.S. citizen undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. students to participate in beginning, intermediate and advanced level summer language programs at American Overseas Research Centers.

There is no friend or enemy in the international relations. Iraqis have a chance to learn from American presense. They can either quickly reform the system of government, or be mired in civil war.

Such programs show the desire of Americans to learn more about certain areas. This is but one characteristic of “zinda quom” (A nation that is alive).

Well Jasoosi (spying) goes hand in hand with knowledge and information. No one can deny that.

However jasoosi is a small subset of knowledge acquistition and dissemination process.

p.s. Closer to home, I question why we don't have sanskrit, Tamil, and malyalam language departments. Knowing our enemies in Bharat is the first step of information. Some may say learning Telgu will be for jasoosi. However Telgu language awareness will be much more than just spying.

Pick up the Quran and read about munafiks.

Since jul 2004 you have posted about 3000 msgs. Either you don’t have a job or you are socially rejected. Besides this is ample evidence for everyone not to argue with you coz you are a know it all wanna be, plus you ain’t go nothin to do, except waste time.

Yeap! the Munafiqs who now have grown beards and claim to represent terror in the name of Islam. Quran clearly warned the rest of us. Off course there are tons of Arab (and Arab-wanna-be) followers of those Munafiqs.
