It will be very difficult for him (Imam Mehdi) even to find the grave of Hazrat Ayesha (RA) wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the mother of believers. No one knows the exact location of Ayesha’s grave in Medina, because:
**“Mauweyah invited Ayesha for dinner, and he got a ditch dug in the ground, filling it up with sharp knives and swords, with their blades facing upwards. According to Alama Ibn Khaldoon, Mauweyah masked that ditch with lanky pieces of wood, and spread a carpet on top of it all to camouflage it. He placed a wooden chair over it for Ayesha to sit. No sooner Ayesha sat on the chair, the whole set up retrieved and she fell in the pit, injuring herself from head to toe, and breaking a lot of bones. To hide his felony, Mauweyah got the ditched filled up with lime. That is how he murdered Ayesha; she was sixty four years old when Mauweyah murdered her towards the end of 57 Hijri. This proves, with out a doubt, that Mauweyah was an enemy of Prophet Mohammed (p), and he proved his enmity towards the Prophet (p) by murdering his (p) wife. The only reason that Mauweyah performed this heinous act was that Ayesha stopped him from making fun of Islam from the pulpit of Masjid-e-Nabvi.. This is why no one knows the exact location of Ayesha’s grave in Medina.”
Due to this crime, Allah (SWT)’s wrath fell on Mauweyah and parts of his body became paralyzed, and he became delusional. It was under this state of delusion that Mauweyah acknowledged he had ordered the murder of many companions of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh&hp) and their children for the sake of his tyrant son Yazid…
Mauweya was a nefarious politician. He was the son of Abu Sufyan, the leader of Mecca, who spent his whole life opposing Prophet Mohammad (pbuh&hp) in Mecca. He was also the leader of every pagan army that fought against the Islamic armies. Muaweyah’s mother was Hinda, who martyred Hazrat Hamza (RA), Prophet Mohammad’s (pbuh&hp) uncle and chopped his body into pieces, which didn’t satisfy her appetite, so she tried to eat his heart. Mauweyah never accepted Islam in his heart. After the conquest of Mecca by Prophet Mohammad (pbuh&hp), both Mauwiya and his father Abu Sufyan accepted Islam as a necessity of the time with a loathing heart. After the murder of Uthman, Mauweyah rebelled against the fourth elected caliph Hazrat Ali (RA).
All Historians have mentioned in disgust that Mauweyah (the governor of Damascus) back stabbed Islam when he made a thirty year peace treaty with the Roman king, rather than fighting for Islam, according to which Syria came under the rule of Roman empire and Mauweyah agreed to give thirty thousand coins, fifty Arab slaves and fifty Arab horses to the Roman king every year.
All of the Muslims of that era disliked this gesture of Mauwiya and cursed him."**

She did not commit any offence. She was simply against Mauwiya
^^ This claim is laughable and a straightaway falsehood for Hazrat Ayesha's (ra) grave is well known. She is buried in Jannatul Baqiyyah with the other Ummahatul Momineen (raa). All of the mothers of believers except for Khadijatul Kubra[ra] are buried next to one another in so much that the first grave to begin from the right is that of Ayesha[ra] followed by that of Sayidda Safiyya bint hui and then the other Ummahatul Momineen [raa].
The authentic reports show that the people of Madina placed her body in front of themselves and offered the salatul Jinazah which was led by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (ra) for her then took her for burial in her specified grave in Baqiyyah?

any references like inuit provided.. it would be fun to see two totally opposing views of the same 'historical fact'..
muawiya brought his own son into power.. thus destroying the basic governance system and turnign it into a monarchy, that alone is a huge issue there with him. even if the rest is true or untrue. anyways, the post was about books that cmpile statements of people who heard from someone who heard from someone who heard thatthe prophet said something. I am not big on statements which have gone thru 5 sources, because their accuracy and validity is both questionable. no matter if its shia book or sunni book.

Hazrat Ibrahim Khalilullah(A.S.) is accredited for raising the foundation of Holy Kaa'ba - the first house made for mankind at Mecca. And remember Abraham and Isma'il raised the foundations of the House (With this prayer): "Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-knowing. Holy Qur'an (2:127)
Hazrat Ibrahim Khalilullah(A.S.) and Hazrat Ismail Zabiullah(A.S.) constructed the house which has been a place of prayer for all times. There is a spot (Maqam-e-Ibrahim) near the Kaa'ba where Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S.) stood while erecting the Holy house and where he offered his prayers. Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S.) further prayed:
"Our Lord! make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. Holy Qur'an (2:128)
The above mentioned verse throws light on the fact that there had always been "true muslims" in his progeny. Hazrat Ibrahim(A.S.) further prayed:
"Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them: For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise." Holy Qur'an (2:129)
After four thousand years, God granted Hazrat Ibrahim's prayer and raised our Holy Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.) from amongst them, as a answer to his prayer. The same thing has been quoted in the Holy Qur'an as follows:
It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest error; Holy Qur'an (62:2)
In the lineage of our Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.) all are "true muslims". Hence from Adam(A.S.) to our Holy Prophet Muhammed(S.A.W.) all are "true muslims".
Allah did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran above all people, Offspring, one of the other: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. Holy Qur'an (3:33-34)
Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) made an Imam for Mankind
And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said: Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said: And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He. (2:124)
The above mentioned verse plays an important role in the doctrine of Islam. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) was a true Prophet of Allah and had stood many tests. But before he could be offered Imamat, he had to undergo some more tests. This verse throws light on the fact that every Prophet can not be an Imam. Even great prophet like Hazrat Ibrahim coveted for it. It is also crystal clear from the above-mentioned verse that an 'IMAM' can be appointed by Allah only; and he must also be infallible. The prayer of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) was granted and there were twelve Imams, from his pedigree.

Also, Allah said,
(Verily, Ibrahim was an Ummah (or a nation), obedient to Allah, Hanif (i.e. to worship none but Allah), and he was not one of those who were Al-Mushrikin (polytheists), (He was) thankful for His (Allah's) favors. He (Allah) chose him and guided him to a straight path. And We gave him good in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be of the righteous. Then, We have sent the revelation to you (O Muhammad saying): "Follow the religion of Ibrahim Hanif (Islamic Monotheism Ü to worship none but Allah) and he was not of the Mushrikin.) (16:120-123)
(Say (O Muhammad ): "Truly, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right religion, the religion of Ibrahim, Hanifan, and Ibrahim (to worship none but Allah, alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikin.'') (6:161)
Part of Tafsir: Ibrahim(AS)
Muhammad bin Ishaq reportd that Ibn `Abbas said, "The words that Allah tested Ibrahim with, and that he implemented were: abandoning his (disbelieving) people when Allah commanded him to do so, disputing with Nimrod (king of Babylon) about Allah, being patient when he was thrown in the fire (although this was extremely traumatic) migrating from his homeland when Allah commanded him to do so, patience with the monetary and material demands of hosting guests by Allah's command, and Allah's order for him to slaughter his son.
About Ibrahim(AS) Supplication
Allah mentioned that there are unjust people among the offspring of Ibrahim, and they will not benefit from Allah's promise, nor would they be entrusted with anything, even though they are among the children of Allah's Khalil (intimate friend, Prophet Abraham). There will also be those who do good among the children of Ibrahim, and these it is who will benefit from Ibrahim's supplication. Ibn Jarir said that this Ayah indicated that the unjust shall not be Imams for the people

This is a very good Philosophical Question.
Since Prophets (AS) and Imams are appointed by Allah the Almighty. The Divine Justice of Almighty Allah is not challengable. That is why it never happened. (this is just a short answer however easy to understand)

It is absolutely impossible and beyond imagination that the Prophet who was telling his people all about the events that will happen after their deaths, did not give a heir. did not appoint his successor ship after him.
Hazrat Abu Bakr, clearly mentioned his successor. It has been reported that while he was on his deathbed, he dictated his will about his successor in clear words which were as follows.
“I appoint Umar bin al-Khattab as commander and ruler over you; pay heed to his words and obey him”.
Hazrat Umar, who was appointed by Hazrat Abu Bakr as the second Khalifa, did the same thing before his death.
The Holy Prophet took the matter of succession as seriously as it was demanded on Divine standard. He informed the Ummah about his plan of succession at many occasions, both formally, and informally, in words and by action, leaving no room for any kind of confusion, or misinterpretation.
