Lollzz.. I am going through all this where guys like my pic/ me, and even seem to be excited. But then their moms just do not want to proceed. May be they are afraid that they will lose their son to his wife.
Sometimes, sisters and sisters in law also make troubles. In short, its the women are making the lives of their sons/ bros difficult.

financial pressure. lack of commitment and sense of responsibility. by and by marriage is becoming such a disillusionment.

1) Too high and unrealistic standards set.
2) Not being social, meeting up people
3) Waiting for the a dream catch which happens only in movies.

Simple shortage of compatible partners... and massive numbers of inflated ego's and sky high unrealistic expectations.
Not saying that you should not aim high... thats naturall but trying to chase rainbows finding the pot of gold and then throwing it away becuase its the wrong shape or colour is silly. Learn to be mopre gratefull. :)
Another thing Money and Power are not everything... just be yourself....

From my experience based on meeting/talking to different people;
For guys
lack of education/finances/qualifications
For girls
wait too long to get married (guys prefer and can usually find younger ones)
lack of religiousness

I think women have become more career obsessed, i have several friends who do not want to get married because they think it will stop them from moving forward in their career or the guy might ask them to give up their independence.

expectations have gone WAY up, while everyone likes to think that they'r something super special now because either they have education, money, looks, family respect therefore they assume they DESERVE someone just as amazning as they like to think of themselves.

What are the biggest obstacles preventing people getting married nowadays?
The biggest obstacle that prevents me from getting married is man's unfaithfulness because I have heard of many stories regarding men cheating on their wives. I do have set of expectations that are realistic and unrealistic but I can't give up on my dreams. I like to be career oriented so I assume marriage life will change my priorities if the guy is not understanding.
