Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Wait, don't tell me his wife is Italian, is she?

WOW, not a single word?

Apa, Agha, Baji, Bahadur, Begum, Pasha, Toop, Chadar, Chaku, Khatoon, Keema, Kainchi, Dada, Surma, Kabu, Qoorma.

Lots of Turkish people here in Germany, not the "real" Turks from Central Asia, but the melting pot Turks from Turkey.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Ohh.. So Baji is a turkish word? :hehe:

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

If you know Urdu then Farsi would be the easiest language to learn.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

No, that would be Hindi.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

No it wouldn't be hindi, Because hindi doesn't share a common script with Urdu nor a particular stylized way of writing. You would be able to read Farsi very quickly and learn it as there are many common phrases used. And wouldn't you already know how to speak Hindi if you know Urdu?

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

I learned to read the Punjabi script in one week. The same amount of time it took me to read Hangul. Script in general isn't a problem and you can learn it within a few days!

You are thinking of Hindustani, the language they use in Bollywood movies. But yeah, because of Hindustani, Hindi is the easiest language for us to learn!

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

But i think hindi is easiest as hindi strictly follows basic rules of pronunciations............:)

once you learn hindi consonants and understand how to use hindi vowels i.e. kaana, matra, you can easily read hindi...while urdu script specially when two alphabets are joined its hard to read....

indian tv channel writes urdu as Ardu....means no pesh on Alif...............:D

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Hindi is NOT easy to learn :emmy:

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Its very easy you just have to memorize alphabets and then its childs play..........:D

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

not if you are learning a no of languages together :snooty:

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

still you will notice that its easiest language to learn....

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Yes hindustani (Bollywood language) and HINDI are two different languages. Please watch many poojas on youtube then you'll get how proper hindi is spoken.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

hindi and urdu are just two standardized registers for the hindustani language. there is plenty of variation amongst all the dialects that gets clubbed under hindustani - a lot more than between standard urdu and standard hindi, especially when it comes to grammar. the different is mostly in the formal vocab, and in certain conjugations of sounds that are somewhat mutually exclusive.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

:smack:

That gotta be SANSKRIT!

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

the basic structure of both Urdu N Hindi is the same...what makes Urdu Urdu and Hindi Hindi is the choice of vocabulary used. if u use more of Arabi and Farsi words then it's Urdu and if you use words of Sanskrit origin then it's Hindi...shudh Hindi and saqeel Urdu are miles apart.

but, because of cross cultural influence, you will find Arabi, Farsi word usage by the so called shudh-Hindi speakers and vice versa is also true.

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

really? I have not seen Arabi, Farsi speaking people using “shudh-Hindi” in their conversation. How come the vice versa is true, uncle? :hoonh:

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

Hindi words are used all the time…some example…janam, kunDli, khattraa, bhatta, gali [lane] …etc…filHaal, yehii zehn meN aaye…ba’d meN agar aap chaaheN to yeh list bahot lambii bhii ho saktii hai, bhateeje!

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

KunDli, Khatraa, bhatta, gali are the words used by Arabs and Iranians

Iman se, uncle? :hoonh:

Re: What are some of the easiest languages to learn for those who know Urdu?

where did i say Arabs and Iranians speak Hindi? i said saqeel Urdu vocabs are 60% Farsi, 35% Arabii and the rest from other languages. these people who speak saqeel Urdu use shudh HIndi words as well.

may be i couldn’t explain very well..sorry
