It’s not for MY wedding, but I want to wear a sari for my sister’s nikah…I want to get a nice maala type necklace to go with it. Ladies of GS (and gentlemen, if you are knowledgeable in these matters), what are some good designs/ideas?
I may be making a trip to the homeland, but if I don’t what are some good, trustworthy online vendors?

It completely depends on ur sari, what kina look are u aiming for ? Anything from a simple american diamond set to a mala can look good all depending on ur Saree!
If you can share the pic of a Saree that would be great

Gorgeous! But I feel like it’s a bit over the top for me…I tend to gravitate towards simplistic designs. And won’t it get tangled when you move around? I’m pretty clumsy lol

@khattichic, I really like the chandan haar you posted. So pretty!
@ShimmerV, I have quite a few options. First is a chhaapi sari from india (I have one in red and one in hot pink), a few silk (or banarsi…I’m not quite sure) saris (royal blue and purple combo, green and fuschia combo) and a jeorgette one (aquamarine and brownish tie-dye type combo…don’t know how to explain exactly)

@Siren that doesn’t have a paticular name but I would recommend u to go for a choker maybe or a nice american diamond or a stone set?
my whole khandaan now uses this vendor called ‘All about you’ after we bought some sets from her for my wedding & since my mom, MIL, aunts were all wearing saree’s the sets all came from her and it was perfectly packed and sent with care. I also loved how sweet the girl was and how quick her response time was!

I love diamond sets!! Unfortunately, I don’t have any 
I already made my husband spend about $9k on a diamond ring for my first anniversary, and so would feel really guilty asking for such an expensive gift so soon afterwards. My mom suggested that I get a fake one made in Pakistan since those look really good (despite being fake). I will check out your suggestion though and see if I can find something affordable. Do they deliver to Canada?

I can’t afford diamonds either unfortunately american diamond sets are referred to exactly how ur mum described them to be. Just look through her page and ull see sets for as low as 19cad approx which isn’t bad I’m guessing. I got it delivered to Dubai through a relative but I’m guessing u can ask her to add shipping charges and send u.
