Unfortunately, we have a class sytem in our prisons as well. There are 3 classes. Class A, class B, and class C.
Class C prisons are for regular people. They are divided into categories, based on the type of crime. Murderers are kept in separate quarters. Murderers on death row are kept in separate quarters. All other criminals are housed together. There is a separate quarter for medically challenged criminals.
All inmates are housed in large barracks, with at least 8 per barrack. All prisoners must do some work, in return for which, they get commutation in their sentences. For an 8 hour work day, they get 3 or 4 weeks reduction per year. All the jobs for the prisoners are done by the prisoners themselves. The cooks are prisoners. The cleaners are prisoners. The launderers are prisoners. There are facilities like libraries, school and gym, and all these places are run by prisoners as well.
Class B prisoners are Grade 19 and up employees. They get a lot of amenities. They get their own room, their own bathroom, tv, fridge, heater, ac, and a host of other stuff. They get a cook (who is a class c prisoner). They dont have to work. They get to sit all day in their waskets.
Class A prisoners basically have a home away from home. They have all the amenities in the world, except the ability to leave the premises.

class C HAHAHAHAHA.....dear i had met him in the jail...he was like king of jail and he had all facilities available...tht idiot even used to drink in the jail.....

So what kind of food do prisoners get in prison? The low grade prisons, not the officer grade ones.

daal roti, sabzi and probably meat dishes no more than twice a week...not sure...

Actually the food is not half as bad as one would think. Like I said, the meals are cooked by prisoners themselves. I once went on a tour of Mach Central Jail, which is the largest jail in Baluchistan, and the only one in Baluchistan with gallows. The food for class C prisoners, while simple for the most part, had a fair amount of variety to it. Meat twice a week, chicken once a week, veggies for dinner...daal for lunch....choice of roti or chawal. So all in all, it was not bad at all.

well food is not the problem for the prisoners rather then they r more worried abt their relatives who come to meet them....and have to stay hours to meet them..
in our jails people come out as experts in crimes rather then they have fear of law in their minds....

when there were thousands of MQM guys were in jail due to nawaz operation after kakeen saeed case....jail was more like 90 .....lol

guys do pakistani prisons also have stories of various forms of abuses with the authorities taking all advanatge of their power. is it really understood that going to prison not just means being in jail, but having to suffer a lot lot more at tge hand sof other inmates and guards etc...?

lol.....thousands of stories r like....when operation was done against MQM guys in 1992,army and police used all the worst means to physically destroy them..like cutting off their hands or drilling their legs etc etc......central jail karachi authority was really symbol of death to prisoners but now thing r bit diff........
abt fights between prisoners...neva heared abt it as there is so much hateness among parties especially between altaf group and afaq ahmad(haqiqi) group,so prisoners of particular parties r always in diff place from their opposite ones....
also ,i wanna tell u a secret....if u have power or money,u can also supply anything like TT,mobile phones etc....
