What are Fair Elections? What's the Barometer of Legitimacy? 1%, 10%, or 100%?

If there is a Government in this world which gets formed after allegations ofmalpractices, rigging and manipulation of results in general elections.

X Party formsthe Govt and Y Party which lost in the elections calls for investigations.

The opposition party files complaints against rigging and reaches out toElection Commission & Courts and as to prove the point asks to test thecase of say 4 National Assembly seats as sample to have litmus test of fairnessof the process through which sitting Govt., was formed.

In 3 out of 4 scenarios (75% Positive Sample as of today while verdict on 4[SUP]th[/SUP]one is still awaited) and after 2 and half to 3 out of 5 year term, theElection Commission or Supreme Court detects errors/omissions/mistakes/missingvotes/counterfoils and orders re-election on 75% (for now) of seats that werechallenged.

What is your take on it?

Take stay orders from courts and let the culprits’ scot free – as holding themaccountable will endanger the democracy? So let’s continue like this and keeprunning the rotten system and dream that one fine day magically all ills willbe gone like it happens in Walt Disney movies?

Let’s investigate and identify the culprits, bring them to task and put foolproof (as far as possible) systems in place so no one can point finger in future andsince the credibility is lost; let’s have re-election?

And what will be your threshold for admitting that elections were compromised; 25%(1 out of 4 seats in question) , 50% (2 out of 4 seats in question), 75% (3 outof 4 seats in question), or 100% (4 out of 4 seats in question) had unfair results?

Disclaimer: The above situation has no semblance toany existing Govt., in the past, present or even future, and is all charactersin above scenario are based on fiction
