and how will it impact national politics and power?
Where will they draw the line?
zero
Zero chance this year
Zero chance next year
Zero chance next to next year
50% chance next to next to next year. That will be election year. Islye.
During the election times , it looked that it is jsut a matter of few days as almost all parties were looking in favour of it. But now seems down and dusted while some ppl get benifit of the isssue.
I dont think so. Currently they have a plan to setup a secretariat for south region so there will be two secretary positions against each ministry. It can be undone easily by the coming govt as you know our politics.
I also think that PTI leadership would not want to lose central Punjab as it will go to PMLn after the line is drawn.
But PMLN was also in favour of this province
I dont think they want it from their heart, they also associate it with hazara province issue. PMLn cannot recover itself in south punjab as there is good number of people who believe there is uneven share of funds.
I wonder how the power will be shared in south punjab between sraekis and punjabis.
Its not upto PTI or any other party to decide unfortunately. It depends on what Army approves.
Logically it’s very very important for Pakistan to be evolved in new provinces. Its much easy governance and quick resolution of issues. In 71 years we still got 4 only.
But again Army wont approve it. That’ll be end of story.
Yes I remember the First Martial Law by Ayub Khan in 1958, he appointed Martial Law Administrators who acted as Governors for the Provinces, I think there were only four, one for Punjab, one for Frontier, one for East Pakistan and only one for both Sindh and Baluchistan.
You see Army likes centralized control! the fewer the Provinces the better ![]()
and if army “allow”, you will say they have another greater plan lol. nobody can stop conspiracy theories being floated.
Iss main conspiracy theory ki koi baaat hey hi nahi.. Army has their own mind set and they work according to that . They dont bother about what civil govt wants or plans… They actually dont believe in the capabiliites of civil govt to handle major issues henece they keep tight control over them. How ever the reponsibilites of failure lies on the shoulder of civilians. That s y I mentioned earlier as well that , let the foregin minister and interior minister to be a sitting general , and let them be accountable too.
They dont believe that govt cannot handle major issue as its all about power grabbing. everybody wants power so is about military like other institutes and nobody is so honest and sincere that he/she would give up the power and authority on their own. so its universal. Politicians will have to take it, it will not be given.
and how army can stop this move? at most, if they will be stopping it, they will be doing it by exploiting weaknesses of politicians.
That is true . Sad part is our politicians give their weaknesses so easily that very easy to control them. AS they are not farishtee..
Sadder part is army spent lot of resources in collecting weaknesses of politicians to control in future. This they can do very easily as they have media under their control and they can degrade / defame any one…
U will see ony day , if IK goes against ARmy , uss ka hashar NS se bhi bura ho ga…
its not that simple. Politicians go to and go against army for political benefits.
Can’t they restore the state of bhawalpur as it was before One Unit was established in 1954-55?
Noon League probably would get a govt in punjab if a partition did happen but shahbaz or his son are probably thinking of the future when they rule the undivided Punjab. It would complicate the water distribution and NFC award as southern punjab is poor even if not poorer than interior sindh or balochistan and they do have a desert there.
