last year i got this new guy under me as a trainee and after three days i was supposed to make decision weather he would be able to manage this high risk and very responsible job. One has to be very sharp in that position. He was not my 1st trainee. i had few before him but he was the dumbest one i guess. he was trying his best but his best was not up to our requirements. He was a bit new in Aussie land from Africa some where and desperate for a job. Dont know after how many months and interviews he reached me but .. . i had to reject him. I talked to my inspector and state manager and told em every thing and asked them to decide which the favored my decision. So today after more than a year for the 1st time i m thinking did i do any thing wrong … . taking away his job .. his hope… i still remember his last look, his eyes ful of disappointment
u hav done wht u think is right .. n right for the company ... but it would b blessing for him if u giv him a chance ...sometimes things r getting beter after some time ..anyway we shoud b rahmet for som1 nt anything else :)
I know its upsetting and you feel guilty but you did your job which is what you are there to do. If he was not capable and you let him stay, both of you could have been out of work. Him for not being up to par and you for lack of better judgement.
You did the right thing you have to look your side too and may be he got a better oppertunity than that and he preformed better in the next one knowing what he did wrong .

Like Mirch said he will find something he is good at. U did him a favour lets say. If he was hired, he’d be in turmoil trying to put up with it and rise to the occassion now and then, consequently suffering dissapointments. Not seeing light at end of the tunnel is his loss, if so…
