I have had this issue for a long time now. I wanted to know if I’m not the only odd ball here. I have changed directions in my life so far, so many times that I can’t even count. Whatever I do, I do it well, but I don’t master it. Which in itself is a problem, cause if you fail in something, at least you know that you aren’t made for that field. So, consequently, the anxiety keeps on rising, till I move to the next area of POSSIBLE interest! I still can’t find what I’m best at…
I feel that people are lucky who find their direction early in their lives!!!

Well, maybe you're a jack of all trades. Able to do several things at once but not perfect in just one thing. You must pick up one thing which satisfies you the most and then stick with it. Some people's lives are not meant to stick with one thing. So even when you have to move/change, do not frustrate. Are you a gemini? what's your age?
geminis as your friends dont count as we are talking about you not your friends. anyway, choose a career path now which you have the most passion for and work hard in in that career. this is one way to stick with one thing. if you cant decide now, you would always be doubtful all life. so decide now.
I appreciate your suggestion. Unfortunately, the environment doesn't allow a change that cleanly. There are broken hearts. there are disappointments. There are expectations. These are the burdens one carries being a human being I believe. some tend to realize them more than others (I'm one of them)
so you are 26. well, you can continue doing what you are doing but dnot let an opportunity for change go by in life. if that is what you seek, that is. some people (like me) would rather like to stick with one thing but my life's constantly changing. sometimes for the good sometimes for bad.
Zodiac is really not my forte (either). However, if you give us more info on what different fields of work/academics have you already explored (and discarded) and what made you change directions all the time, we can jointly try to figure out the underlying issue and better manage your future expectations.
Relax, sit and write continuously until you are tired enough and then read it. What is obvious from it is your right direction. Follow it up, wait for your chance and use your intelligence.
Is it possible that you dont stick to one field for a long enough time? Myhap you are able to master it but you never stick to it long enough to find out? Some people have issues with dedicating themselves to one particular field… its not that they are not very good at it - but simply that they never wait with it long enough to find out.
Personally I would advise you to think and decide which one it is. Whether you are good at it but arent the type to stick it out to find the end results or if there is something you havent tried that is your ideal career path.
Thanks all. Yes may be I don't stick to one field long enough. Another way to look at it is that the field doesn't stimulate me enough to make me move on. Life is short, one simply cannot afford to stay with long and worng experimentation!
Don't worry about that too much at the moment. When I started I kept jumping a lot for the first 4 years and then settled. I regretted settling down, because there were always those things that I wanted to do as well.
Then I realized that I had to settle down one time or another. I had to choose a single field of expertise. That still does not mean that I cannot move to a different company doing the same job at an advanced level.
You have to be become a bit selfish as well. Do what is best for you and your future. Don't give too much attention to what people will think about your decisions.
Thanks WitchDr. I believe that what I may be good may not be socially acceptable to my family & friends. People like to stereotype professions like anything else these days. This makes the decision even harder.
I did my year 12 with Science, then Bachelors in Commerce, then Master in Business admin, then master in international finance. Did my first job as a Financial Analyst, the second job as Marketing Consultant, and now managing a restaurant. I've been all over the place for a 30 years old. But not satisfied yet...................
My parents wanted me to do med skool. I didnt :D I am studying aeronautical engineering.
After my first year, I took a small step to a somewhat different field: electrical engineering. After one year I jumped back to aeronautical engineering and joined second year. In my third year the thought of joining med skool crossed my mind once or twice :D
But I am enjoing this now :) . I wouldnt want anything else :) Just make sure ke If you start something, make sure you finish it. That counts for studies AND everything else
InshaAllah you will find your path out of this. evaluate the past and the position you are in right now. After this you can make the choices that will affect your future.
