DARD DIL KAY WASTAY PAIDA KIYA INSAAN KO
WARNA TAAT kay liya kuch kam na thay karobian
TAAT (obedience)
KAROBIAN (angels)
MULANA ALTAF HUSSAIN HALI SAYS IT ALL
in quran same is said as:
"WAMA KHALAQTUL JINNAH WAL INSA ILLA LE YA'BODUN"
TRANS: We have created Jinnat and insaan, but for our (Allah's) obedience (or in other words: worship}.
Praise be to Allaah Who has created us to worship Him and has prescribed His religion and sharee’ah for us to adhere to, and Who accepts our excuses for our mistakes and for what we forget or are forced to do.
Allaah has commanded us to adhere firmly to His religion, as He says:
“Hold fast to that which We have given you” [al-Baqarah 2:63].
And that which The Almighty has given us is Islam. Islam means the submission/surrender of one's will to the one true god, Allah SWT.
Fido, u mentioned the five main pillars of Islam, and asked if 'it was really that easy'. The pillars of Islam are just that--pillars--that build faith, that build deen, that aid in the striving for deen, and that is what Allah SWT wants from us afterall for isn't that process of striving Islam itself? I mean each step we take, every effort we make no matter how small will bring us that much closer to Islam, what Allah swt wants of us, and, therefore, Allah swt.
When I will die, I will ask Allah the same question.
