What about New Zealand?

I have recently found out that New Zealand is one of few countries accepting immigrants from Pakistan and their process is comparatively fast if you fit the criteria.
But I have never heard of anyone immigrating to New Zealand from Pakistan nor there is any trace of Pakistanis in New Zealand.

Does anyone here have any knowledge of life in New Zealand, have you ever heard of someone going there as a migrant?

Any information will be appreciated.

Re: What about New Zealand?

New Zealand is cool , not very famous amongst Pakistanis but its a nice place .
but if you are a party person and like to be in every event such as Eid show and Iftar parties and you know paki dawat things lol than NZ is not where you want to come. its been 7 years since me and my family is here and we have only gone to 3 to 4 occasions.

Recently we had a new paki ambassador here , and also got lot's of PhD student from Pak.
as far as i know there were 4000+ Pakistani in New Zealand in 2007.

people here are better than Australian people , they are not rude or mean , and support you in whatever way they can. overall its a very peaceful country.
hope that helps.

Re: What about New Zealand?

Thanks a lot. 4000 Pakistanis are too less in a population of 4 million.

But lack of social gatherings is not a problem for me, I am a kind of guy who can happily live alone on an island :)

I'm in the process of completing my application. I will definitely ask more from you if I get accepted.

Thanks again for sharing the info.

Any time :)

Re: What about New Zealand?

NiceUsman, i lived in NZ for about 5 years before coming to Australia.
I can assure you that there are enough Pakistanis there and it's a very nice place.
Kiwis are much better than Australians and NZ is such a beautiful place.
Weather isn't that good, it rains a lot but weather isn't extreme so you can easily survive.
Job opportunities, economy, business and education opportunities aren't as good as Australia but if you have a stable job then it's all good.
I think social life is quite vibrant in NZ, there are a lot of community programs (or used to be anyway) and we had a lot of family outings with group of other familiies. A lot Pakistanis moved to Australia back in 2000 but a lot of new people have come to NZ since then (i know that because i have many friends in NZ).

So yeah.......go for it!!

Re: What about New Zealand?

niceusman so u wanna go to nz , its a small island that has very little jobs because the whole of india is there, beat pakistan by 20years getting there, anyway if u go there it is better than all the other run away places a person should go to.

Re: What about New Zealand?

New Zealand is such a beautiful place. While landing in Auckland you see green meadows and sheeps....Atomsphere is cleanest.....You can drink rain water in NZ. Houses have water collection system too. There are NO snakes in NZ. Not even in rivers or streams......unlike Australia where you find one in every house......The whole of NZ is beautiful. Coramandel area has lush green hills, there is Wahie Beach with hot water wells.....like you dig sand and hot water comes out.....and few yards away is very cold sea water..... drive from Auckland towards Napier is so GREEN. It feel like heaven... Rotorua has amusement parks....Zorb, etc. Boiling mud wells......Lake Taupo is a big lake and protected by one natural wall. If that wall breaks, whole lake water would burst out.......amazing place! NZ got some unique plants and trees......

Auckland is big city, I think largest city in the world for area.....spread all around bays......you can take ferrys......Queen Street is main happening area with harbor hosting millionaire yachts......very rich country.....

Plenty of jobs in IT, Banking and Finance....

As to Pakistani community, the largest TAXI service in Auckland is owned by Pakistani gentleman. I don't know if he is still there as he had dispute with wife who moved to Australia....

I completely understand your concern :mehr:

Re: What about New Zealand?

NZ is beautiful - okaayyyy :aq:
iss khoobsoorti ka achhar daalna hay :hoonh:

if it offers a half decent life style, decent jobs, education etc. then consider moving
otherwise its as good as Uruguay or Peru or Greenland.

Re: What about New Zealand?

its a beautiful country. very green and muchly pollution free. but dayumm boring as hell. what is your area of expertise? itna mushkil nehi to get jobs. networking is much easier. people are helpful of their desi counter-parts.
but once again......grrrrrrrrrrrrr.........B O R I N G. I can't wait to step out. but sigh i do appreciate what all i have been blessed with here.

Re: What about New Zealand?

Jhanjharewali is correct. NZ is very quiet country. You won't find hustle bustle of Lahore or Karachi there. It is best for people who like isolation...... Auckland is the only place where you can do a bit of people watching near Queen Street area....or window shopping..... I love NZ Fish n Chips shops....

Re: What about New Zealand?

@mastan.......when were you here and what for and for how long

must say South Island is picturesque!

hey but also NZ passports is one of the safest and visa-free travel to many countries.

Re: What about New Zealand?

South Island is a heaven on earth! NZ is for romantic people!........lovers.......for those who want to settle down in peace far away....

I visited in 2005 on holidays for a month. Got my visa stamped in Bangkok.....they were kind enough to transfer my file from Singapore to Bangkok.

You got one of best passports for traveling!
