I was dropping my daughter off at childcare today, and for that we have to catch two trams..
when we got off the first tram to catch the next, there was a wallet sitting on the bench. Just as munchkin was about to touch it, i asked her not to as it may be dirty (there are a lot of bums around the city.. and it was one of those valcro type wallets.. so i thought the poor sod had prob forgotten it and will come back to get it.. )
Khair we left it.. and got on the tram.
after dropping her off, as i was going up the escalators at the train stop, i saw the wallet again.. thinking it was the same wallet i thought “what on earth! how can i possibly see the same one again?”.. A guy picked it up and i thought, he must have dropped it again.. so i walked on
10 meters later, the same darn wallet again! So i thougtht.. damn it, im just gonna pick it up..
It was a promotional thingi majigi, by one of the milk suppliers here in OZ… and they were celebrating their 70th birthday… and… there were $5 inside… BONUS!
Not too long ago a study was done in various cities across the world to see how honest people were.
Wallets with a modest amount of money were left around the city, as well as information on the "owner's" ID. The study aimed to test which cities were more honest than others - it looked at 1) how many wallets were returned and 2) how many with the money still inside.
I'd be afraid to keep the money in case I skewed the results for my city :D
