what a lovely gesture

Ehsan bhai, there is a difference between a good team player and a good captain, he was a bad captain but a great team player throughout the WC, when Pakistani players were down on the field he encouraged them to play harder, I think if retires, he will be a great bowling coach with his experience.

There is always two sides to every story.

Outside someone can act like anything, but on the inside we don't know what he or she is thinking.

Waqar was very comitted to the Pakistani team as a youngster, but it suprised me when Waqar didn't take responsibilty and step down as Captain after the World Cup.

Now all of a sudden, we see Waqar practicing with the new team, for which he does not belong to. Of course the man does not feel well being left out, but I don't think he came to the nets to let out his depression. If someone was really depressed, there is other places to bowl in the nets and especially far away from the team for which you were not inlcuded.

Goody goody may not be the right word, but it's quite obvious what is occuring ;)

My view is that although he's stiull a useful bowler he's no longer one of the best so he should retire and let the youngsters develop. No harm in him coming to train with the boys as long as it doesn't interfere with Miandad and Rashid's work.

I agree with that and I don't want him to create any problem in the new team setup.

I hope it was purely for "cricketing" reasons and not political.
