For some reasons, western nations rose above the rest of the world and found a better way of life that improved their society and economy. That made them the ideals for the rest of the world to follow, that explains the westernization in the rest of the world. The world follows them because they see them as their ideals.

As for India, they are only there to follow and not lead. They were communists when communism surrounded them, now they are “westerners”. It will not be surprising to see them stretch their eyes to look Chinese if China is next to dominate the world

The bold part is debatable. The civilizatons before that had all the tools to make it better life.

History is written by the conquerers too.

Yes, Briitsh Imperialism made a big difference which is still evident.

Whenever one group of people lose its principles, becomes lazy, stops thinking and become greedy/hypocrites, they lose.
