Why don't mothers learn that a marriage can't be started with pressure.
I think a lot of them really believe the end justifies the means (the 'end' in their heads being the daughter settling down and eventually becoming content in the marriage)..

It is so heartbreaking when it is your own parents doing it to you. I can't imagine my parents doing the same to me I would never be able to love them again. The sad part is these ultimatums given by the mother (can't come back) are not restricted to the villages.
