Not sure of makeup artists but the ealing town hall is a popular choice for weddings, I went to a mehndi there last summer, and the wedding was held at the Porchester Hall in bayswater. They had the catering done by some company whose name begins with s. not much help. sorry but i can root around for you. where exactly in west london?

There are several places that include the decor within the hall price like monsoon, safron d'or.
you can get in touch with sapna- see their website. they can do everything from the food to the stage to the venue. they are not cheap, but they do the best food and customer services are great and the uncle is a sweet guy.
try looking at their website for venues, they have them listd by parts of london. the hotel on the bath road are popular, ed. renaissance, marriott etc. unfortunately my wedding was in the surrey, but i used them and they travel anywhere.
makeup artist: all tend to be £250-£300 for the decent ones (just hair and makeup).

They said that they can provide me the hall but no stage - they said that they could arrange a stage (back drop - sofa and rug) for 750!!! HI MERAY RUBBA!!!!
The guy then said why dont you make your own - anybody have any ideas how I can get a reasonable looking stage in hounslow

Backdrops are dead easy to make. for my brothers wedding i refuse to pay for stuff i can do myself. im hanging a hula hoop to the ceiling with a fancy dupatta atttached to the rim of the rim and letting it drape down to a low lying table that will double as a seating area for the groom with lots of cushions on. thats so far the mehndi stage. i have great plans for an alternative stage for the valima in mind.
or a simpler idea is those cheap ikea organza type curtains, hang them on the wall behind with a few garland that are available from southall. be creative, there's loads you can do.
But to hire furniture is just as pricey as a stage as you need to hire a platform for the seating area along with the sofa etc.
Greenleaf are also very good. Extremely professional and quality in all aspects of their catering & decorating. They are a bit pricey but will do their best to accomodate your budget. I can't post URL's either but google them. They did a fantastic job at my cousins wedding.
ORPHY! you sound right up my street - That hulahoop idea is way wicked! your so creative! - the problem is that the hall I have booked does not allow me to make any adjustments/modifiactions that will effect the wall/ceilings - how do I prepare a stage without doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can try "Moghals" they do every thing from mehndi to walima, they are quite cheap for stage and hall deco, they did my cosuin's wedding in east london and one of my friend's birthday, they are very good, you can email them on [email protected], i think thats the email, sorry dont have their number, also u can try gumtree
they did a great job on my cousin's wife at their walima. his sister organised it at very short notice. might be a bit far from you but i'm sure it will be worth it as i doubt their prices will be too high (they are well known to be inexpensive for other treatments such as waxing/threading).
