West Indies team sucks really ..except for being an athletic fielding side, they hardly have anything going for them.....come to think of it, Pak could not have been in an easier group. They really have no excuses for their ouster from the WC.

West Indies is doomed like India and Pak. This world cup is getting down and down.
WI, India and Pak were the 3 worst sides on display (among the test playing nations), so it is quite reasonable that they should be doomed.
My only complaint about this WC so far is the highly undeserving Ireland being in the Super 8....their win against Pak notwithstanding.

Having watched some of the super-eight games I am convinced that Pakistan would have lost against Australia (no chance whatsoever), Sri Lanka, South Africa and NewZealand. The games against India and England could have gone either way. WI failed in the end mainly because their batting just like India and Pakistan's is very brittle and inconsistent. They have a tendency to crack under pressure (cf. India and Pakistan). And it goes without saying that none of these three teams is as mentally tough as the aforementioned teams.

West Indies is an extremely *thakki hui *team. The sooner they are taken out of their misery the better. Similarly Bangladesh and Ireland are way out of their league now. For all their miserable showing in group matches, India and Pakistan would definitely have made for a few enjoyable games in Super 8. Right now its boring boring boring. About the only Super 8 game that generated some interest so far was SA vs SL. And that too was just a one-man (Malinga) special. Everything else is just too one sided.

The only question remains between England and Sri Lanka.
My guess Sri Lanka will progress to the Semi-finals

You are right....Too many predictable games.....Indian and/or Pak would probably have not reached the finals but I am certain their presence would have made for some interesting games in the Super 8 or the semi-finals.
Also, India/Pak do sometimes tend to raise their game to the level of their opponents (just like they can lower their game to the level of minnows as we saw).

Aussies, Kiwis and the Lankans are the 3 sides that truely deserve to be in the Finals. Any 2 of these 3 teams in the final will make a cracker of a game :k:

West Indies is a pathetic team (I still don't know how we lost to these guys). Lanka, as I said, only gained confidence from the last match even though they lost. They have the best bowling attack in the tournament, and they are serious contenders for the World Cup.

My problem is I dont want either AUS or SL to win. In case of AUS I am bore of seeing them win. In case of SL, I just dont want a team of chuckers to win. But lt looks like, it is going to SL vs AUS final.

Malinga is not a chucker by any means, his arm is dead straight during the delivery.
And you have a bonafide chucker Harbhajan as well but he just happens to suck.
