I have been watching the game all along, and it looks a fine pitch to me. Not a batting heaven, but it certainly is a 250-in-50-overs pitch.

If anything, West Indies are playing second on this pitch, so they are batting on a surface already worse than what Indians got to play on.

Well it’s quite fine as long as u apply urself and don’t do air fairy things … it’s a 235 - 250 pitch if u hang in and work out ur runs instead of trying to do it Dhoni,Sehwag and Gayle stlye … this u can as long as the ball has some shine and his hard

a lot of misfields in the last 10 overs or so hasn't helped to the cause of Indian team

The term "unfit for human consumption" can rather be applied to the wickets in Sri Lanka, if anything. Every country will suit their wickets according to their advantage. Whether that be dust-bowls of India or flat tracks of Pakistan or slow surfaces in West Indies, when the teams know their advantage points inside and out, they are most likely to prepare similar tracks according to their own set of strengths.
Scores, above and beyond 250, have certainly been reachable, and have been chased successfully from the other end as well. A harsh statement by Panicker, to say the least.

Reminds me when Danish used to field in that region. Even the simplest of balls that used to come his way made him look like a superman without wings diving full-stretch with his mighty arms in complete vain.
