West Indies should be demoted ...

Windies just proved a point - They are a one-man team. If Lara fails, they fold like a club side…

It was disgusting…

Now I know why Colin Croft had propsed after the first test, that Windies should just cancel the remainig tour and go home. He predicted a 5-0 white wash. He also predicted that the way Windies are playing he sees little chance of any match even entering the fourth day… Windies just got luck in Melbourne (5th day tomorrow), but they played atrociously in 2nd innings… Whats wrong with them!!!

Here is what I propose… Windies should be demoted and their test sttus be taken away for 2 years. They should be made to play with teams like Holland and Kenya etc, and if they prove worthy, then they should be allowed back in the test status after 2 yrs…

Come to think of it, there are 10 test teams (including Bangla). ICC should rank these teams every two years, and the bottom two teams should be demoted to second league. For the next two years these demoted teams should play in League B (or whatever), and who ever gets on top of League B should be allowed to come back to Test Status…

This will give an opportunity to teams like UAE, Holland etc to compete with these so-called test teams and its a win-win.

Teams like present Windies are a blot on test teams…

The West Indies are not as bad as you would like to think. Last year they beat Pakistan WITHOUT Lara.

They struggle to win away from home, but Pakistan can't manage a win AT HOME which is a greater crime.

Forget giving UAE test status. They should not even be allowed to play international cricket until they respect their players enough to give them citizenship. At least England has the decency to do that.

It's disgusting that Pakistanis and Indians are expected to do all the dirty work in the Middle East and are not even afforded the basic rights of ordinary citizens.

It is a very good idea to have two divisions - it all leads to having test championship. Maybe there could be a "five nations" tournament every year or so with the last 2 teams being relegated to div 2?

But all this should wait till Pakistan has actually won a few games as judging by the harsh standards you have used to judge WI, Pakistan on their current form would be banned for 5 years!!

WI played quite well in the last test and could easily have won if they had a few more runs.

well WI winnin against pakistan was totally bcoz of bad decisionz given by the umpire!..
pakistan lost a match they shudn't have..but umpire was 2 generous towardz WI!..

Uske ik ik hurf ki teh mein mein ne akser chahat ka deriya daikh..
uski ankhon mein mein ne akser pyass ka sehra daikha..
derd ki ruut mein kon kisi ke zakhmon pe merhum rakhta hai..
chandni raat mein mein ne akser chand ko tanha daikha..

Sohail, come on every body knows that there were at least 3+ bad decisions in the final stages of the match to give the WI the win.
But i think WI should play from the ENG county level and then up to prove they are a test nation.
They have to beat every county team in a test series before getting to be a test nation.
Now this will only be for the WI, as they are absolutely pathetic.
I mean worse than BD pathetic.

You all are completely missing the point.

It's no wonder Pakistan underachieve if
the players learn as little from losses
as you.

Of course Pakistan got bad decisions in
the West Indies, but that's besides the
point. If "they are a one-man team" and
that one man wasn't playing, why didn't
we annihilate them? Are you saying we
managed to lose to a team that wasn't
even there?

Umpires did not lose us that series.
We played like crap. Twice we were
5 for 30-odd in the first innings.
Our fielding was appalling. Despite
this we almost sneaked a victory
through some devastating bowling by
Wasim on the last day. You should
say we would have won if even one
of the two attempted runouts in the
last few minutes was not muffed,
instead of crying about the umpires.

There will always be bad decisions,
(hopefully, with two neutral umpires
and use of replays there will be fewer)
but control what you can control.

Many Pakistani 'fans' live in a dream
world where we are the best team. I'm
as big a fan as anyone, but I don't
kid myself. I know we have many weak-
nesses. Our fielding consistently the
worst in world cricket. The running
between the wickets of players such as
Inzamam is legendary. Our batsmen have
the ability to tame most attacks, but
more often than not are undone by poor
shot selection rather than brilliant
bowling. Our bowling attack is potent
and varied, but often is undone by lack
of patience. If success does not come
immediately our bowlers tend to lose
heart and let the opposition get on top.

Pakistan has what is takes to be the best
but will only realize her potential when
Pakistanis accept responsability for their
failures and look to ways to improve,
instead of always pointing fingers.

PS: No one responded to my comment that
the UAE should be banned from international
competion.

Suhail, your reply was a very good analysis of the problems that we have in our national team. BUT the fact still remains- had the umpires not given those very poor decisions, Pkistan would have beaten WI in WI for the first time!!!

no problem, gujjar, the way windies is playing these days, there will be many more chances to come. aussies are going to make it 15 in a row.
