I can understand why in the past a bride would be sitting all quiet and shy, with her head down and not looking up ---she was probably marrying someone she never even met before, moving so many miles away, into who knows what kind of household and might hardly ever see her family again. So she wasnt pretending, she was probably so sad and terrified for real!! These days when I go to weddings and see brides sitting up on stage with their head down, not looking up, not smiling or talking or laughing, it sometimes looks so fake and awkward to me. Its your wedding day, you should be happy and if you arent happy then you might need to reconsider your marriage! If someone really is super shy in real life thats a different story. But this should be such a happy, blessed day for you, so enjoy it. You should just be yourself, shouldnt be putting on a show for others to see, afraid to even smile
