While I was pondering on the more finer points of life and the universe, I wondered why the urdu language has the word ‘chaddi’ and where does it come from?
Traditional dress, as far as i’m aware, does not include underwear (for air conditioning purposes). Lunghi’s aren’t worn with underwear either- so why do we have this word?
Any ideas (even stupid ones) are more than welcome in my path to chaddi enlightenment.
