**WELLESLEY COLLEGE SEEKS A MUSLIM ADVISOR**
Wellesley College is seeking a Muslim Advisor to Al-Muslimat, the muslim
student group on campus, and as a member of the multi-faith religious life
team which nurtures the religious and spiritual life of the college
community.
This is a 15-hr a week position with a stipend of $16,000.
Additional Note: Advisor must be female
Responsibilities:
- Offer regular opportunities for education of Islamic principles &
practice for Muslim students - Provide support to individual muslim students by serving as a mentio,
advisor, and advocate providing advice and support to muslim students,
faculty,staff, and alumnae around religious and cultural issues. - Serve as an advisor to Al-Muslimat, the muslim student organization at
Wellesley, by working with student leaders, attending regular meetings,
facilitating planning of events - Affirm the diversity of muslim students and encourage
community-building among muslim students - Encourage and facilitate connections and programming with other
colleges and universities - Work as part of the multi-faith religious life team under the direction
of the Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life to create community
celebrations, support educational activities and provide leadership for
the entire college community around religious and spiritual issues. The
religious life team includes Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim,
and Unitarian Universalist chaplains and advisors - Serve as a member of the student services division working
collaboratively with others (faculty and staff) to support the lives of
Muslim students and educate the Wellesley College community around issues
of multi-culturalism and religious pluralism - Act as a liason to the Office of the Dean of Students (through the
Cultural Advising Network) and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life
(through the Religious Life Team)
