Re: Well Done PPP
As much as I hate Zardari for his corruption, I admire him for his shrewdness. Given his famous Mr. 10% image, the fact that every third person in Pakistan has atleast a second hand account of his corruption and his spending so much time in jails, no one has been able to convict him. So, either the 'establishment' did not want to convict him or he is not corrupt. I would go for the first option. He must have something up his sleeves.
I was rather releaved during and after the mumbai terrorists attacks that Zardari was handling the Pakistan side. The thought that had Nawaz Sharif (I voted for N-league) was in charge in Pakistan during that time gives me shrudders. I am sure Musharraf would have worsened the situation with his fauji brain (an oxymoron?) and tunnel vision. I admire the way Zardari eluded and confused the Indian leadership and media! Just the way Indian politicians talk smooth.
I wouldn't really give him or PPP credit for the US assistance though. Pakistan's economy has lost much more than that because of America's stupid obsession with war and the amount is rather a pittance.
