Welcome to Slavery - US style

In todays day and age there are still 16 territories that are colonies. A majority are run by the US where the US has applied an aparthied form of society. American Samoa and Bermuda are two such territories. They have never been granted independence and all forms of action attempted to be undertaken are ignored and eliminated.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

Your attempt to be provocative would be more effective if it were not the Muslim countries of Mauritania and Sudan that were the two countries today still widely practicing slavery. Don't throw around terms such as slavery so audaciously.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

Actually Mauritania is run by an american/jewish supported dictotar, who is more loyal to america then to his own people.

Mauritania Challenger Arrested After Loss

NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania - Mauritania’s top opposition leader was arrested on Sunday, accused of being part of a plot to overthrow the U.S.-allied president of the Arab-dominated desert nation.

It is a fact the Saddom hussain was also an american puppet

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

THe dictators of uzbokistan, jordan are also supported by George Bush.

Basicly it is white boy interest, to keep these country backward, and support dictators so that these countries won't have independent foreign policies and will just act like stooges.

The british did the same in INdia. THey supported Maharajas to control their people and suppress anti-british feelings.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

But Pakky, if it works why break it, especially if whitey is that good at making puppets out of the brownies? They must really want it in their heart of hearts.

What? Too offensive? Oh, sorry, didn't realize all the offensive racism can only be spewed by guys who maintain the conspiracy theory international dunderhead association.

please do visit (DV) Amr: Dead Dictator Talking and see your Donald Rumsfeld meeting his buddy saddom when he was oppessing his people.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

Bermuda is not an American territory you twit. It is a British colony with internal self governance. Daddy should demand a refund....

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

I wouldn't call it slavery, by any stretch.

One of America's territories is Guam, an island in the Pacific, which US grabbed (or 'liberated) from Japanese in WW II. The locals are called Chamorros, and form a significant part of their 100,000 population. There is no federal taxes collected in that territory, and the entire local tax collected is spent within the territory. On top of that, their annual federal aid was in excess of $100m (1997). The island practically relies on hand-outs from the federal government and a major percentage of the island's native population is on Food Stamps and Medicaid programs. There are huge US military bases there, and any attempts to reduce the size of the bases is met with severe local resistance, and people there realize that having soldiers there is a great source of revenue for local businesses.

They have their own locally elected 'Governor' and legislature, and a few times some people tried to start a movement to become a state, but they are way too small for that. If ever they try to "break-away" from US, they won't survive a year, and their finances will be in ruins. The locals over there know that as much as anyone else.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

DO you know how hawaii became part of US?

it was an independent country, with its own Queen. Over time rich white settlers from the dole pineapple factory came in monopolized their business. ANd when the queen tried to take action against them, they asked the US govt for help.
Hawaii being a small weak country, was liberated by the US and and queen was diposed.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

I'm sorry, I missed the protest in that country

Pakky, refresh my memory, can you give link to those protests in Hawaii too?

Edit: Oh yeah, include credible sources for what you claim in the first post also.

Re: Welcome to Slavery - US style

That is correct.

Bermuda is a British Colony.
It’s people rejected independence in a democratic referendum in 1995, by almost 3 to 1.
It has it’s own constitution and a democratically-elected parliament.
The island also has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, equivalent to that of the United States of America.
