Late Dr. Malik Ghulam Murtaza and many other scholars have an opinion about ayah 26 of this surah Al Anfal.

While the revealation of this ayah was in particular to the migrants of Makkah into Madinah, at the present time, it fits exactly on the creation of Pakistan - the way Pakistan came into existence on Lailat-ul-Qadar; it was not really created, but it was " Divine revealation" ...

If we hear/read these ayaat in that context as well, these ayaat hold a very beautiful meaning in them.
