My sister and I improvised with nothing in the house but salmon steaks, shrimp, sweet potatoes and two very, very empty stomachs. Made it gumbo style (minus the okra) and it actually turned out very, very good with crusty rolls to mop up the gravy with.
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
I cooked something with noodles n rice n added vegies n lil pieces of kebabs n then a cup of cream , it turned out weird :(
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
Wierdest thing? Well I went through two pregnancies so I've been known to do strange things. I've had cravings and aversions to certain foods. Especially salsa, meat, cheese and pickles. Sometimes I combined them all together. I used to make nachos, top tortillas with salsa, ground beef, cheese, sour cream. I also used to make omelletes with salsa and ground beef, then cheese on top. If I ate brocolli, it usually had cheese on it too.
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
I tried pizza with oreos on it. I got the idea after watching "Mr Deeds"
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
sandleen, it would have turned out fine if you would have added salt, soy sauce and some hot sauce..or would have added any spices actually.
i made corn and beans using a gujrati recipe from net. it didn't sounded weird from the recipe but turned out to be one.
sara, was the pizza baked with oreos? how was it? did you added it with sauce and regular veggies etc?
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
No, pizza was already made I just put oreos on it
Re: Weirdest thing you've ever cooked?
Well, this doesn't qualify as cooking but it was weird and I did it for months. I was training hard and needed to add bulk to my frame -- it was my early 20s and I was naturally very thin. Due to very little or no time to cook, I started mixing protein and carbs together in one easy meal. And here is how I'd do it:
2 can of water packet tuna.
1 tin of V8 tomato juice.
Pour the water out of tuna. Pour 1/2 to 3/4 of V8 in a blender jug. Put the tuna in the blender and blend till everything is nicely blended. Then I'd pour the drink in a large glass, clip my nose with my fingers and gulp the whole thing down. YUMMMMMM. :D
